Blaster display or stand - Show yours

I've been thinking in which way I want to display an Offworld blaster - Display or stand? Shadowbox or gun rack?

I recently saw the "Samaritan" (the gun from Hellboy which I think is a movie gun very heavily inspired by Blade Runner) and was thinking of making a stand myself in a similar fashion but obviously with a Blade Runner theme. That way the gun could sit inside my media cabinet or one of the shelves in my office and easily be picked up to have a look at it when showing it off to friends, etc.

Has anyone done anything interesting/unique in this regard? How do you display your Blade Runner blaster? Photos welcome!

A while back I made a shadowbox for my Coyle v4.x blaster. I bought it at Michaels for about $20 or so, and added some crinkly looking paper in the back, and 2 clear acrylic posts to support the blaster.
Here's what it looked like.



When I got one of Rick's Snubby kits, I wanted to display them together, so I got a larger shadowbox, and gave it the same treatment. This time I just used some plainer-looking brown matte paper in the back.



Both have real glass over the front. . . I don't know how many pics I took to get an angle where the reflection didn't show!

Wow, those look amazing and very clean! How do you take them out? I saw some shadowboxes that have hinges on the front panel to make it easy to take the blaster out of the case, etc.

How did you attach the acrylic posts to it?

Thanks! It was a nice weekend project.

The acrylic posts are screwed in from the back. I had a length of acrylic rod left over from another project, so I used a fine hacksaw to chop off a couple of sections about 2" or so. Then I sanded/polished the ends. On one end I chucked a small drill bit into my Dremel and bored out a shallow hole.
I placed the 2 sections where I wanted them to go, and marked it on the backer board for the shadowbox. Then I drilled out the holes for some small machine screws, which are screwed in from the back.

The shadowboxes I got don't have any hinges. They have those little metal tabs like on picture frames that you have to bend out to get the backer board out. I placed the blaster on the acrylic supports, then closed the whole thing up and put it on display.

Those are some good ideas. I saw some shadowboxes today while browsing a fabric store with my wife and none of them seemed thick enough for the gun.

As far as mounting pegs (if I end up doing a shadowbox case) I thought of using these Ikea wall mounting pegs we bought a while back which we ended up using as coat hangers on our hallway; I'll try to take a photo of what I'm talking about but essentially they're about 1 inch long aluminum pegs that could easily serve the same purpose as your acrylic pieces.

Still debating whether to go with a self-made stand or case though.

Bringing the thread back to life..

Im awaiting my first Off-World blaster and I don't have the dimensions on it, Im also looking for something to display it in and I found this at Ikea.se

This little box has the dimensions of
Width = 31 cm
Depth = 8 cm
Height = 20 cm

Could it work ??

Based on those dimensions of the box from Ikea, you should be able to fit the blaster inside.

Nicklas, I'd hold off on buying a stand/case until you get the package if I were you.

Something to do with the little extra I sent with the blaster...

This is an old picture, but I will say I am still using this stand which was originally for airsofts.

I think I like Gary's new stand a lot better though
