Hello out there,
Anybody home? Is this site dead now? It seems to have lost it’s forward momentum after the 2049 craze sort of dried out. There were all these Real Parts Live-Fire Blasters in the works a while back which was making me excited as all Hell, and then....nothing! What happened?
Hopkins, Veektor, a few names I have forgotten over time, etc., etc.... I was looking forward to seeing the finalized fruits of your labors! Let’s get some updates happening on here and let’s see some finished Live-Fires, WTF!? I blew off my Tomenosuke/Bulldog Live-Fire with 3/4 load Blanks this New Years to commemorate the end of the 2019 year. Unfortunately I didn’t film it, but trust me, can you say “Massive Monster Muzzle Flash”? Oh yeah baby, It looked like this, but bigger!

I’m still looking for a machinist in So Cal to help me machine my SL Receiver, any takers?

Nice way to ring in the New Year! Want to say there are those of us hoping for information as well. Would love to have a live-fire version myself in the future. |

You could make yourself a PFC firing blaster.
You can get the necessary in the UK.

Alright, it’s alive again! Nice to see some of you posting to this thread. I would be glad to help with any info about a live-fire build for those of you that are interested. First and foremost you need a very qualified gunsmith to make sure that when he makes and installs the custom 4” barrel for your Bulldog, he MUST make the gap between the cylinder and barrel as tiny as he can possible get it without interfering with the cylinders rotation. You want all that flash and gas pressure flying straight down the barrel and not out of the sides at all. That’s a good start.
Here’s a check list I followed while making mine.
Blade Runner Blaster Replica:
-Charter Arms "Bulldog" .44 SPL (Blued) ✔️
-Tomenosuke Blaster Pro Assembly Kit ✔️
Charter Arms "Bulldog" .44 SPL Upgrades:
-Bobbed Hammer ✔️
-Cut Down Cylinder Extractor Rod ✔️
-Custom 4-40 Slotted Screw for Cylinder Crane ✔️
Custom 4" Barrel Upgrade (Important!):
-Barrel thread OD: 37/64 of an inch ✔️
-Barrel thread pitch: 28 per inch ✔️
-Set Minimal Barrel/Cylinder Flash Gap ✔️
-Set Proper Torque Ratio ✔️
-Set Proper Pressure Relief ✔️
-Set Accurate Steyr Bolt Cap Angle ✔️
Metal Parts:
-Steyr SL .222 Rem Receiver ✔️
-Steyr SL Bolt Lever ✔️
-Custom Machined Receiver Bolt ✔️
-Custom Machined Receiver Front Cap ✔️
-Cylinder Side Covers (x2) ✔️
-Custom Machined Laser Sight Rod ✔️
-Custom 4-40 Slotted Crane Screw ✔️
-Genuine Vintage Military Binding Post ✔️
-S&W K-Frame Trigger ✔️
-Trigger Guard ✔️
-Custom Outer Grip Frame ✔️
-Custom Butt Plate ✔️
-Hardware/Fasteners ✔️
Non Metal Parts:
-Steyr SL .222 Rem Ammo Housing ✔️
-Steyr SL .222 Rem Ammo Magazine ✔️
-Acrylic Amber Grips ✔️
Electronic Parts:
-LED Electronics ✔️
-LED Diodes - Red (5mm x1, 2mm x4) ✔️
-LED Diodes - Green (2mm x2) ✔️
-Micro White On/Off Switch ✔️
-3.6v - 1/2AA Battery (x1) ✔️
-32 AWG White Wire ✔️
Ammunition:
-.44 SPL Cowboy Action Loads (180gr) ✔️
-.44 SPL 3/4 Load Smokeless Blanks ✔️
Final Outcome:
-100% Successful Test Fire! ✔️
-Conversion Complete! ✔️
-Negative Issues in Performance! ✔️
-Beautiful and Heavy! ✔️ _________________ Damion: ogrotesque1 |

Haha! I most certainly would if it were legal to do so and no international laws would be broke, but unfortunately my hands are tied, sorry. Good luck though! _________________ Damion: ogrotesque1 |

It’s funny because I’ve had this life-long obsession with the BR Blaster and the elusive mysteries behind it. Before all the information was made available after the reveal, I never thought I’d see the day that I’d get around to actually creating one of my own. At the time I thought I’d never finish it because it is on the more difficult side of prop making. It involves a gunsmith for starters. Using a Tomenosuke Kit as a template really made thing a lot easier. My real parts Blaster is taking forever to complete because of finding a machinist to mill my Steyr SL Receiver. Everything else is ready to go and waiting. Now that’s the one I’ve been dreaming about my whole life, a BR “Hero” Blaster with my own serial numbered Steyr. Good luck to all the other Live-Fire builders!

Good to hear from you Veektor! I hope all is good with you and the family so that now you can start back up on finishing your Live-Fire build again.
