Hey all, does anyone have any good suggestions for something to use on grips to give them that white weathered look on the checkering like on the Hero Blaster? Thanks!
Respectfully,
Damion

Hi Damion. The white residue could be as a result of polish and so if you use a polish in the grips that dries with a white powdery finish (before buffing) then you will probably get what you are looking for.

Another option (and one that I have used) is to use a flat paint, diluted so that it sits in the recesses before drying. An acrylic or an acrylic gouache (my preference) is ideal for the job.

Having spent some time in the company of the hero blaster myself, I should mention that the residue is not actually white. Its a shade of white with a green undercast so if you are wanting to make it as accurate as possible, that's the shade I would be chasing if I were you.

In case you haven't seen them, here are some of the pics I took of the hero and you can see the colour of the residue on the grips.

Best of luck,
MARK
