My Friend Anton and I created a VR rendition of Deckard's blaster that attempts to make mechanical sense out of this movie prop by turning it into a rail gun with a powerful capacitor and cooling system for the VR game H3VR. Anton is the dev, I am the modeler.

Obviously, I took some creative liberties with the model, with the most notable being the battery eject switch, and heatsink. This was a fun project.

I have to admit, I really love the take on the gun using rail gun technology. The video made the gun seem a bit too easy to disable, but the concept does work. Also liked the ammo variations. Especially liked the model work done.

Posting direct image links of your model here. I hope that is okay?

I have to admit, I have been thinking over the design of this gun for a while trying to come up with a realistic fantasy based tech and function of the gun. this is something I have never thought of and really has great potential for more ideas. Great work!

I like how the gun was over heating going red hot smoking away in the video. Well done and it was funny too. LOL. Cool

That's a great sci-fi explanation for all the gun features. I love it.

This is such an awesome project. I love the slide release on the magwell you added! Well I love all of it, lol. Really, the logic you've infused into how it would function is so much fun. A wonderful addition to blaster club Smile

What function do you have for the second trigger? I didn't notice it being mentioned in the video.

Nice!

Interestingly, it rather reminds me of a discussion we had a few years ago:
