Well, another of those crazy WIP...the 2001 Eva Pod.
Complicated...since the base is a sphere, it's difficult to calculate and measure where things are placed on that model.
I'm getting the hang of it (not perfect, but it's a learning tool for future projects).

I love that moment, when it starts with an idea, then an envy and finally the first steps in the making... Great project !!

Very interesting, watching from the start. Having only ever built kits, it has always amazed me how scratch builds come together. In the 80s, I was confused at the ILM behind-the-scenes photos that showed the models before painting, with the odd colored bits here and there. Never realized what they were doing until years later, when I also learned how modelers build a master(?) from which to pull molds(?), which makes the bits seem molded into the hull instead of glued on. Forgive my clunky lingo, but I hope you'll get my meaning: bringing order from the chaos of construction. Truly an artistic vision involved. Looking forward to your progress, joberg. Thanks for posting.

Looking good joberg.

Are you planning a Discovery front in the same scale?

That's one big sphere you'll be looking for!

No progress report for now...I'm working on finishing the Space Station (got to close the rear of the main rim).
I've done 2/4 of the work and beginning the 3rd quarter as we speak.

When that's done, I'll tackle that EVA Pod once and for all Wink

Aaaand another update. Painted grey (to see all of the details I have to fix) and putting the arms together. I think I'll have a problem with the decals (unless someone knows where to buy a set for a 1/6 scale Pod Wink )
If not, Letraset will be my friend!
