Is this the same one that will be sold in the USA by Hollywood Collectibles Group? I am wondering if they will post this for sale soon as I thought they would get it first. Has anyone in the USA purchased a blaster from HCG Japan and had any issues thru customs?

I was wondering too. It's a bit confusing.

Personally, I got one of the "first batch" of the "Toku-San Special" through Mune (Hollywood-Japan). Mune sent me the tracking number when it was sent from Japan.

When I followed the FedEx tracking, I saw it was "stopped" at customs in Paris.
I called FedEx and I had to send a mail to customs in Paris (I live in France) to explain exactly what the content of the box was, and its value (because customs want to calculate the import taxes).
So I told of course it was a "non-firing fantasy science-fiction gun".
I was lucky, because it was finally charged at 5% (art stuff) and not 20%...

The photo above looks great for sure. The blueing on mine looks more "uneven" on some parts, depending on the lighting. I guess each blaster will be different here.

The pictures do not do the Toku-San Version Justice. It is a piece of art. Every nook and cranny has been given an incredible amount of refinement and finishing that can only be done by skilled hands.

The New HCG Glossy exclusive is not the same thing in any way.

Indeed this is a work of art! It is superb in every way. I can't wait to see a video of it in action. I have also emailed with Mune and yes it is hand made with high quality. So, the real question is "do you want to spend the extra money" in order to have a rare high quality piece or just go with the next gen coming from HCG in USA? That is the question I am asking myself... although shipping to east coast USA - $2700USD (with another 4% for payment with paypal) pretty much answers it for me. I think that the last round of Tomenosuke was very nice, and the next version will have the better finish. I don't particularly care that is is mass produced. 150 is a very small run.

$2,700? I have one from the last round of the Toku-San and it was only $2,000. Wonder if anything is different with this version?

Here is a video of an Elfin Knights finished very similarly. This guy's channel is a trove of information regarding how to refinish model guns, especially those made with the HW ABS. I'm doing some experiments right now of my own to try and get similar results.

To Mun:

Hello,
I was hoping you could provide pictures, price and ordering instructions for the new Toku Special Blaster?

Thanks

Tom

This is what I got back:

I found just one image.

The price is $2500.00 for the US including FEDEX.

Mun

Tomenosuke posted Nobu-san's bluing guide, which apparently comes with the assembly kit.

Thanks for this! The dilution level for the solution was something I've been fuzzy on. The stuff straight out of the bottle is pretty corrosive!

I've never used B.C. Alu Black, but their other bluing solutions, Perma Blue and Super Blue, can be used undiluted... No problem there.

The Toku version is different. The HCG will have a blued receiver, but the Toku gets a full overhaul. It's basically having a master model-maker build your assembly kit for you. The heavy-weight ABS is buffed and blued as well as all the zinc cast parts. The one's I've seen pictures of (like the one above) have all been absolutely gorgeous.
