So I found this on eBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLADE-RUNNER-BLASTER-LIGHTS-SOUND-AUTO-SA-MOVING-PARTS-and-STUN-LASER-RAY-/262286976008?hash=item3d1185a408:g:C3IAAOSwUuFWvXsy

The description is pretty..... interesting:

"FOR AUCTION: BLADE RUNNER BLASTER WITH LIGHTS, SOUND, ROTATING CYLINDER, BLOW BACK SLIDE AND THE NEW STUN LASER RAY (SLR) PULL THE TRIGGER FOR ONE SHOT OR HOLD DOWN THE TRIGGER FOR A MACHINE GUN TYPE BURSTS OF LIGHT, ROTATING CYLINDER, BOOMING SOUND AND SLIDE ACTION. TURN THE BACK OF THE LASER TO THE LEFT TO TURN IT ON, TO THE RIGHT TO TURN IT OFF. THERE IS ALSO AN ADJUSTIMENT SCREW ON THE TOP FOR LASERS WITH A DIFFERENT DIAMETER.

Custom toy model Blade Runner Blaster with removable STUN LASER RAY. After the “Retirement” of Leon, Pris and their leader Roy Batty, the human rights group “R.R.M.H.T”championed the movement for humane treatment of non-humans. The new leader of the Tyrell Corporation created a Stun Laser Ray, just for that purpose.

This Ray worked by freezing their artificial blood, paralyzing them completely and altering brain function. Lasting only two to three hours, it was completely harmless with no apparent side effects. The Stun Laser Ray was then adapted to all Blade Runner Blasters."

SAY WUT?!?!?! DID I MISS SOMETHING????

Shocked Phew!
I guess that information was lost on the editing room floor. Maybe we'll get new insight in a forthcoming Definitive This Time I Really Mean It Director's Special Cut Edition Final Issue.
Maybe that will even be on offer by the same seller.

I like the blaster's top bit, though.

Hahaha, yeah perhaps Wink

But it's kind of cool... he's not only selling a prop... he's selling an entire fantasy build up around it!! Perhaps this calls for Blade Runner the TV series?? First episode: "Blade Runner - the blood freeze"

Yes, I was thinking along those lines, too. My first comment probably is snarkier than intended.
What the physics might be behind a high energy beam that actually freezes a target, now that is something I'm thrilled to wrap my brain around.

Imagine a BR-esque television series on the narrative quality level of Battlestar Galactica. Offworld episodes, anyone?

This guy took the ball and ran with it
Then again, it's been years (hell, decades) that I'm saying for all to hear that a BR TV series should be done with one different Director for each episode.
Would you like Christopher Noland to do one? Or Michael Mann, Duncan Jones, James Cameron...

The Cohen Bros. or David Lynch would be interesting to see for sure.
Of course, it`s without saying, the writing has to be top notch every time!
Same cast and crew, same street set/interior sets for sure (13 episodes) and a quality production should seal the deal for me Wink
