Something I only noticed while working on my VK build - why does the camera 'eye' point towards the operator rather than the subject?

There's a convex shell with a wire on the other side of the "eye"... So as I see it it's pointing the right way?

This is that prop, which I desperately want to build and I'm just too damn scared to even start it.
