As you know, and I think I made a thread on it before the problems the site had at the beginning of the year, leading to the loss of the thread; Creative Assembly are working on a multi-platform game to be released on October 7, 2014.
Set 15 years after ALIEN, you playing as Amanda Ripley are on a personal mission to find out just what happened to your mother Ellen Ripley, who went missing along with the rest of her crew and ship, the USCSS Nostromo.
Well fellow Propsummit folks....and I am STUNNED to hear this news....but as part of a DLC package if you preorder the game, we get to explore the USCSS NOSTROMO itself.
“Everyone who pre-orders the game will get a free upgrade to the ‘Nostromo Edition’, which includes the first of the two DLC missions, entitled “Crew Expendable”. Taking place moments after the death of Brett, it sees players assuming the role of Ripley, Dallas or Parker, as the crew of the Nostromo attempt to flush the alien from the air vents and into the ship’s airlock. Depending on which character you choose, you’ll have a slightly different perspective on events and will begin with different resources.
The second pre-order mission – “Last Survivor” – will be available through select retailers depending on territory. Set during the film’s dramatic finale, you play as Ripley and must activate the Nostromo’s self-destruct sequence and reach the Narcissus shuttle in order to escape.”
I haven't yet gone to the ALIEN: Isolation site to look at the news - but you can take a look yourself and also the news over at AVP Galaxy http://www.avpgalaxy.net/2014/07/09/original-alien-cast-reprises-roles-alien-isolation-dlc/

Thanks for the news, buddy!
P.S. I hope they'll publish an art book on this bit of the development, as they're doing already. |

Looks interesting.
I like the fact the original cast have contributed their voices (apart from Ian Holm).
The sets and characters costumes look good. A slight deviation from screen accurate but nicely done.

This is a staggering development! Didn't have much interest in the game until now. The last console I owned was the REAL 3DO, that's about to change.

This is very cool as it opens the door on the possibility of finally getting that immersive Blade Runner game.
A new game based on characters and events taking place in the new Blade Runner 2 universe with special 2019 missions such as the finale with Roy. Unfortunately it all relies on BR2 being made and then being able to build a game around it. Years away but I want it now. Maybe if the acclaim and success of Alien Isolation is big enough, some gaming house will just go ahead with a film based Blade Runner game and ride that nostalgia wave. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

WOW, that's awesome, they even put a Hoptimist in Ash's lab !
Great attention to details, even if a lot of them were re interpreted for that game...
However I don't think I'll buy it, video games are too time consuming, I've turned my back to this addiction years ago...

Couldn't agree more Fred, the last game I played was the original Call of Duty. I`m getting this game strictly for the Nostromo additions, to move about inside, get chased by the Alien,
kick Jones`s box around and to play out the "airlock" scene as i`ve never and always wanted to see it, is enough to bring me out of retirement.
Theres a Mad Max game coming out as well soonish.
Here`s a link to the newly announced Australian steel book Ripley addition......

This is also compatible with the Occulus Rift. If anyone fancies a walk around the Nostromo meeting Ripley as if actually there, that is the closest you will get _________________ "F*ck it, it's just a movie. Let him worry about it" Harrison Ford |

Hello, again...
I haven't gotten far into the game, yet....but it's clear that fans of the movie were in the driver's seat this time.
There's even a spot of acid-damaged floor in the imfirmary :-]

They apparently had access to terabytes worth of stuff that we never even saw.
It's strange, they did some nicely detailed work in most areas, yet got some simple stuff wrong.....mostly non-pivotal, but easy to notice, nonetheless.
Weird, eh?
Cheers....eh :-] _________________

You are right about the details being great/wrong. I was excited to see the bridge in a walk-through, from the back of it to the seats where Dallas and Ripley sat, but the bay windows on either side were framed differently. |

If nothing else, full map access provides structural and design details that were previously missing.
I've wanted to do a 3D map of "A" deck, and possibly even "B" and "C" if the details are available.

Terrific! There's two areas I think of off hand that have always interested me: 1) that countertop area behind Ripley in the first mess hall scene, and 2) the rear bridge area, specifically the steps up and that chart table. Cobb did a drawing of the area in pre-production, but photos of the final set are scarce as hen's teeth. |

Thanks, joberg....I am liking Sketchup.... a lot!
FenGiddel86...let me know if I missed something that wanted, eh.
These images show that there were some details ignored or /misplaced/forgotten.
There's only one set of steps on the bridge...

TFS Cold Canuck...wow, love the "set"; all in all it's pretty good for sure, it's just that for us (crazy fans ) it fall short in certain aspects that are either missing or were never part of the movie. |
