Thanks guys! For some reason, fake cigarette brands fascinate me. Morley's on the X-Files, Lucky Apple in Tarantino's films (and beyond!). I find them far more interesting than real brands.

Revisiting this thread - just wondered Retro, did you ever do your photo shoot?
I was looking for fodder for a more traditional version of a Balaji Imperials Ad.

I actually just sent out an email to try to line up the photo shoot! We'll see how it pans out of course, my last attempt fell through.

I'm disappointed to see someone on this forum has taken this image and is selling t-shirts with it on Zazzle.

The irony is that they claim they bought the original book, scanned it and cleaned it up, but since I did the work on this I know the "tells" and they are obvious to me.

Enjoy your karma buddy.

Dissappointing, to say the very least.

I appreciate your sharing this work with the community, Retrograde. I will certainly give credit when asked about this fantastic part of my kit/collection.

The first law of the internet, "If you've posted it, you've lost it".

Sadly, while my original intent here (naive though it may have been) was to share some of my artwork - primarily the re-imagined magazine covers of Tom Southwell's props - I was struck rather abruptly with the reality of blatant plagiarism, so I was forced to pull back. A couple of sour grapes and there goes the wine.

How nice it would be to share with a community that honored one another's efforts. But as Fox Mulder warned "Trust No One" . . .[/i]

I have SO many pieces I would love to post here, but no doubt for all the work and research, the rewards would be eclipsed by the opportunists who view any offerings as fodder for a quick buck.

Nicely done, SSB.

And how cool to read Tom Southwell's inputs on this thread, back then.
