thanks Andy, I suspected that the stands would not fit either the Offworld or Sidkit but I am hoping that it might fit the Coyle.
I do want to make stands to fits the OW, SK and Coyle blasters as well if I can get my hands on one for a few days. Anyone in the Los Angeles area...
I don't trust just making stands from a tracing of the profile. Not accurate enough. Actually the process for making the stand for the Tomenosuke was to first trace the profile, scan the tracing and then draw it up in CAD for laser cutting. I think it took three or four rounds of modifications to get the fit just right. _________________ Dave

Good idea Dave, the more the merrier...now to have the proper gun in hand would be ideal as you explained the process to make those stands |

You'll have to post some pics Fred.
Dave, does this mean your CNC is back up and running? I hope so. My Tome needs a home |

Fred's stands were from the first batch.
I just got the new computer for my CNC, now I need to install software, restore settings, etc. etc. Unfortunately this weekend is tied up machining a Steampunk walking stick (non CNC lathe work) to take to Maker Faire which is next weekend in the Bay Area. So realistically it'll still be a few weeks before the stands are ready. But don't worry, they will get done. I expect a flurry of interest once the Tomenosuke kits (finally) start shipping and want to be prepared for that. _________________ Dave

Any update on the possibility of this stand to fit other versions? Coyle, Sidkit, Offworld, and Tome seem to be the four major models currently available so it's not like one would have to make dozens of variants..
Just askin'..

Yes, Dave, by all means please let us know the status on these wonderful stands. It's been entirely too long since we've heard from you. |

I'm sorry but I am no longer making these stands. Too time consuming, in order that the eggcrate slots fit the variances in plex thickness the cut profile for ech stand had to be optimized for the thickness of that particular sheet of plex. Maybe a different design in the future, but for now, I am on to other things. _________________ Dave

I hope the steel barrels can be adjusted to the new Retailer pro. In case it's not, would you consider making a new run? |

I've not seem one of the Retailer Pro versions, so I don't know if may steel barrels will fit or not. Sorry, I just have too many projects that are of a higher priority (including my Detective Special version of the Blaster) to do another run of steel barrels. And if I ever did, the price would have to be almost double. The first run were WAY underpriced for the number of hours that went into making them. _________________ Dave

I can tell you that while I was selling these stands for $25, I should have been charging double that. Due to variations in Plexiglas thickness I would have to measure the blank for every single stand, choose from one of 20 different cutting files (each file had a different specific slot width in .001" increments) then load the appropriate file and cut each stand individually. It was not possible to do one big batch cutting of multiple stands. It's why I stopped selling them and gave Tomensosuke the rights to make them. $60 is pretty reasonable all things considering! _________________ Dave
