I knew all of this...kind of sucks that that these tweaks and changes all cost money, in throw away meds and office visits.

BUT you so right I have to do it.

I know it sucks right now to have to try and experiment with meds, or other tricks of the trade, and not have the results. In medecine, you're the patient and as the word implies you'll have to be...well, patient.
Hang in there, at a certain time it'll get better for sure.

I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your MD/hospital, but it's important to know that you have to take control of some of the things involving your health and your treatment.
Not only by asking questions and getting answers, but there's also the possibility for a second/third opinion and referals to others who could have a better approach to treatment...

I will be sad to see you leave, but health must come first.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

I got an email asking how I was doing as he had not seen a update on the site:

So for those you care, I have a mild allergic reaction to one of my meds.

And I saw the Doctor today and he confirmed it and took me off one of my blood pressure meds.

He prescribed a couple other drugs to help with the problem and it could be a couple of days before we know if that was it.

Then we will try another BP med.

This is a part of getting the right meds and the amount of them to keep me going.

Tomorrow IF I feel OK I will be going into Cardio Rehab for a two hour evaluation to see how well I am recovering.

This rehab is projected for some four months. The biggest problem is carefully working up my chest strength without harming all the hard work they did.

If you’re not aware, the cut you open and the breastbone (sternum) is divided, it takes a while for this bone to heal.

You might like to read up on this at: http://www.texasheartinstitute.org/HIC/Topics/Proced/

I was in luck as they did:

Since the 1990s, surgeons have begun to perform "off-pump bypass surgery" – coronary artery bypass surgery without the aforementioned cardiopulmonary bypass. In these operations, the heart is beating during surgery, but is stabilized to provide an almost still work area in which to connect the conduit vessel that bypasses the blockage; in the U.S., most conduit vessels are harvested endoscopically, using a technique known as endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH).

Some researchers believe that the off-pump approach results in fewer post-operative complications, such as postperfusion syndrome, and better overall results.

It really is a very complex surgery, one I DO NOT recommend to anyone.

Other than to save your life anyway.

Rich

Thanks for the updates Rich; as you know it's a fairly long process (tweeks and adjusting meds/excercice routines, etc). Should be counted in days only since every one of those days are close to recovery.
Every little step is a victory in itself. Science and Medicine have leaps and bounds, who knows what'll happen in another 10 years in terms of heart surgery.
I'm sure somedays are better than others, but once you look behind you you'll see that stuff has improved and in another few months things will be different again and so forth.
Keep us posted, it's good to know that you're in good hands

Update on the last update: Had very bad night and I am still having after effects from the allergic reaction: so I will have to cancel the Cardio Rehab.

So I had a small set back.

Rich

PS:
I share my reports as a part of sharing: to inform you of what such a thing is like.

And to inform you in detail why I cannot fill orders.

Well to sound corny, I kind of like the Star Trek/Astronaut ideal of reporting everything even as you crash.

And although I have not found anything other that the classic causes, (there is some warnings and clams of SUGAR being the cause...) I feel I can broadcast the warnings and fill you all in on what you may face in the future.

And I gives my something to do..as well.

OK I am now seemly clear of the med that caused the allergic reaction.

And for the first time I am having almost no congestion and have been able to return to my own bed for part of the night.

Now I will have to have my heart Doctor prescribes a new Blood pressure med.

And I am now making three walks of twenty minutes per day.

Slow small improvements.

Day by Day. Or one day at a time.

Rich

No one has mentioned it, and after Prometheus I hope it does not happen, but if a new Blade Runner comes out your retirement will have to end.

We will need you to build us the new blaster.

So, get well and healthy and then prepare yourself. Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks.

Last word was they were going to do another Prometheus and that they were going to perhaps work something about Blade Runner into it.

So there may not be a Blade Runner film as a stand a lone.
