				|

				| Ridley Scott briefly mentions our favorite movie gun in his audio commentary for Prometheus. It starts as a line of thought about futuristic guns and "a gun is a gun, is a gun" he mentions the guns chosen for Prometheus just looked futuristic to him.
Then he goes into a small explanation about the blaster from Blade Runner, saying he gaffer taped it together himself using a "carriage" from another gun, and handed it to them and said "like that" and they bolted it together.

He then mentions Harrison's react was "who the hell . . ." once he saw it finished. As if to say "Who the hell built this monster". He said it was made to look very "thick" and unusual.

Just thought I'd share this as I'm watching it on and off today with the commentary while I work.

				| TFS Noeland...yeah, that gun is part of a list of iconic firearms used in movies; once you see it, it's difficult to forget it | |

				| I thought I'd never hear Ridley talk about the BR blaster, lol. Thanks a lot for sharing, Noeland! | |

				| So for you keeping score at home, the answer to "who designed the Blade Runner blaster" is, "Ridley says he did."

				| Well, I wouldn't say Ridley did...what he said was that he put one piece (was it a Steyr or something else ) of a gun on top of another gun and taped these together to make one weapon. Now it was up to the prop guys/gunsmith to come up with the final comp and present it to Ridley for his approvall...they translated that idea into reality

				| I think I read that Ridley and someone was shopping in a gun store and found a Steyr receiver in a case and that was the beginning of the props.
