People, it's not L.A. anymore: Deckard has been on the run for years now...do you think he's gonna stick in the area?

The environment thing makes sense, no more rain (or less) and more dry conditions, again, not knowing where Deck is hiding.

Don't judge a book by its cover: Gosling might be as bad ass as anybody.
He has a job to do and he'll do it!

I liked the trailer btw...but it's only the beginning.

Saw it...

It's more a teaser than a trailer, don't forget that principal photography wrapped recently...

To me the dark streets look more NY than LA...

I like the orange images and sets, they look closer to what I remember of PKD's novel (a hot semi-deserted city) than the original 1982 film and they also have an Andreï Tarkovski (Stalker) vibe I rather love, with the notable exception of that half destroyed giant head that reminds too much of Prometheus for my taste...

Wait and see what's next in a few months I guess...

Fred

PS : Almost forgot but a friend of mine who knows the guys at Tomenosuke told me they told him they're using Tomenosuke blasters in the film...
I now wonder if the soon to be released version with the lighted handle is the one we'll see in the film ?

Diggin the coat they got Gosling wearing. Definitely fits the aesthetic without being too close to Deckard's.

...and it is supposed to be LA, or at least starts there, because Gossling is a LAPD officer, as you can see on his spinners monitor too.

After watching the trailer many more times and seeing the photographs I`m getting more excited about what they have done, granted its only a thread from a rug.
Seeing some George Miller fibres in that thread as well.

Early days but a grainy eighties print might complement the film much like Black and Chrome did for Fury Road.

Official plot synopsis from The Playlist.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

I mostly enjoyed the trailer and certainly liked the desert and casino scenes. The cityscape looked to me as if it had been shot in downtown Hong Kong which disappointed me immensely. I'm not a great fan of Gosling but I am sure with Denis Villeneuve at the helm I might get to like him in this. I am horrified though at the thought of Jared Leto being cast because I dislike him intensely.

Seeing Harrison with the blaster was a highlight and just as special as seeing him in the Fedora again.

A teaser poster for Blade Runner 2049, I sincerely hope they don't drop the ball with this one...

Gouache paint and Prismacolor pencils on board

So that's what it's like staring down the business end Deckard's blaster, huh? Shocked

That's fantastic work Mark. I love the red eye effect—nice subtle detail.
