If anyone is interested in a crated set, I am making a very limited number of them for $650.00 shipped (domestic). For international shipping, I will need to charge a bit more depending on what region of our planet it will be sent. The total weight is about 20 lbs. (9 kg). Each piece is individually cast in a polystone material (of my own concoction), hand painted and faux finished in antique ivory and faux antique red stained ivory. The bases are weighted and felted on the bottoms. Each crate is constructed of new pine and faux finished to appear old and worn. Likewise for the paper graphics.

I will be making these to order, so please allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery.

Details on the lighted table will follow later. It is an item that will be sold separately.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Rick

Hi Rick,
I made my own set, as like you I had an obsession/itch I had to scratch! but I must bow to the better sculptor - your set is so close to the original , I find it really difficult to tell them apart!! and I'm being honest here, so much so I want one of your sets .

I'm based in Helmdon , Northamptonshire NN13 5QJ UK ., that should be enough for you to work out a shipping cost , PM me with the details .

my best regards,

propsjonnyb

Amazing work. Can't afford it at this time. If you sell just the pieces at some point, I'd be all over it.
Again simply amazing work of art.

Beautiful set you've created. If I could drop the cash right now I'd snatch one up in a heartbeat.

THE BIRDS HAVE LANDED !

Got Rick's masterpiece this week...

Belive me guys, I say masterpiece because, just after unpacking the pieces, no other word came to my mind ! (and I don't talk about the box here !)

Love the details !
Love the paint job ! (especially the white pieces, they really look like old ivory)
love the weight of each piece !
Love the included letter that explains the origins of the chess set to JF Sebastian !

I loved Rick's first blaster when I get it in the late 90's, but this set is far superior imho because it'll always remind me (us) that BR is much more than an ûbercool blaster, it's an universe in itself... an expending universe should I say, thanks to Rick's work !

Of course, the box in itself is beyond words, something from another parallel reality (or our 2019 future) with tons of gorgeous labels and logos. I displayed it near my 30's dentist chair and I love to see them side to side, they make me think of JF Sebastian each time I look at that corner of my work place !

Cool

Fred

Hey 'Skin Job 66'
Yep.... they look cool. I like those grainy pics of your birds and stuff....gives it added atmosphere with those angry looking birds. They look like they mean business there even though they are "stuck" in perpetual suspension and will live long after we disintegrate into oblivion.
....oops .... I accidently had a spiritual moment.

what a beautiful job. i really appreciate the amount of detail - how the Russian on the box isn't just random - it says "Chess Figures" in Russian.

brilliant attention to detail and craftsmanship sir!
looks like i need to sell something...

I was able get one of these crated sets from Rick, and all I can say is WOW! The layers of details in just the packaging alone, as well as the cardboard shipping box just blew me away. It was shipped to my place of work and I showed them a couple of pieces and they asked me how could I afford to spend thousands of dollars on something like this. It is priceless to me no matter what I spent. Rick is a true artist, especially when it comes to making something that is more than just prop replica, but something that tells a story just like the movie did, and really makes you feel like you could be in the world of BR as you slowly unpack and look at every detail. This thing is more than a prop. It is an experience.

Thank you so much Rick,
Andy

Great for sharing that with us Andy. I think what Rick is offering us is more than a prop it's an experience as you'd mentioned in your description. It's in the packaging, the outside details are great and showed the effort and thinking of, not only the main prop inside but also the outside story leading to the inside...a little bit like a Frank Lloyd Wright house: the outside should draw the client to the inside and Rick certainly succeeded into doing just that.
