				|
 |
				| Due to a careless child, followed by a tragic paint-stripping accident, I am looking to buy a new resin front trigger for a Rick Ross PKD-1.
I was just about to order casting supplies when I realized I didn't want to pay $55 for the materials to cast one little part.

Can anyone help a new guy out? Thanks.

				| The original might be salvageable; that might be my best bet still. I tried a couple of different quick resin versions with varying degrees of (non) success. But it's all a learning process. Thanks. | |

				| "YUM", blaster cake!....... that particular blaster (looks more like liquorice& marzipan) appeared on ebay not long ago, and went for £32.50? A week later three more identically finished blasters by the same member popped up with a buy it now price of £60, all sold before the auction finished.
Being a curious chap I contacted the member and asked if this was a recast of the kit sold by MEdropship in the USA? he only confirmed it was a recast from one he had purchased from America?

				| You can always do them in MDF (easy to work with) but you'll have to imitate the wood grain with paint then fix it with a spray varnish (satin finish would do the trick) | |

				| Woodgrain is extremely easy to reproduce if you are casting in resin , you 'paint' the inside of your mold with pastels after you have sprayed them with mold release and let them dry. When you pour the resin , as it sets it will 'fuse' the pastel colour in , once demoulded a good polish will enhance the effect. Using MDF is a little more complicated as you need to seal the MDF before painting on the grain effect , then reseal with a good polyurathane hard varnish. | |
