hehehe Thanx guys. Means a lot.
This week i received the replacement shipment of the remaining etchings for the rest of the run. I'm all stocked up now.
Mostly meshes for the engine service hatch on the left side.
And the meshes for the rear. A seperate and a tad thinner brass than the one above to accomplish the desired result.
More later today.
Cheers,
Wasili |

You guys are too kind
In the meantime here are the parts that make up the production frame. Nearly all parts slot into each other, although it has to be glued together for strength. I machined 12 complete sets, but have all the small parts for the entire run.
And here it is put together.
More on monday.
Cheers,
Wasili

Next set of parts.
Here are all the production parts (castings, machined styrene, rod (for the two hinges) and etched meshes) that make up the service engine panel on the left side. Simple panel, yet still 23 parts in this. I have a tendency to dust my etchings with grey primer, so here the two meshes are indeed grey. All parts are in stock for the entire run.
They are tiny and difficult to make out in this pic, but the little box just below the right shadow box contains a dial. The dial itself is a seperate part, as is the 'chrome' ring. If you want to spray the ring, instead of paintbrush it, this takes out the masking step.
And here is the finished panel. Shadowboxes are still loose and unpainted, but when painted, the fan and box are hardly visible, and way more subtle than this. Sorry for heavy lensdistortion. All is deadon straight.
More on wednesday.
Cheers,
Wasili

beautiful work Wasili... this is just fascinating! I love the little fanbox an fanblades in there...do not worry abut the camera... no matter how I try, I get distortion as well. I guess one must spend buck bucks to avoid it _________________ ______________________________________

Thanx Jt...
Anyway, onwards.
Production parts for the rear end. In total 22 parts. Castings done for 12 sets, all machined parts and etchings in stock for the entire run.
And here it is put together. The kit includes a glue guide for the steps in the ladder.

Thax Jt and Jo. Appreciate it !!!
Okidoki, picture time.
Here's the production parts that make up the main gun turret and turret sled. In total 9 pieces for the turret, and 29 pieces for the turretsled. As you can see it's a mixed media batch. Machined styrene in 0.5, 1.5, 1.5, 2.0 and 3.0mm thick, cast parts, rotocast turret with alu axle shaft, brass tube and springsteel axles for the sled.
All parts (except for turret) in stock for the entire run.
One note on the roto turret. I roto by hand, and even though i managed to avoid as many airbubbles as possible in the process, there are a few that will need to be taken care of. My apologies. The remaining parts are nearly completely ready for assemble. No cleanup.
All the pieces (multiples sleds in pic to show details, only one in kit):
The turretsled assembled:
The main turret assembled:
The two combined:
The turret is a bit noseheavy, so when swivelling on the base, it would tip over. Hence the finger.
Cheers,
Wasili

Heya folks, time for some fresh updates.
This is a new rearlight cover. There are two on the rear next to those 'boxes'. I machined it from chemiwood/renshape. And not only the outside, also the inside, so that the clear casting is hollow. It's about 0.7mm thick.
It still has a few markings from machining, which off course will be removed. The clear castings will commence this week.
The new noseturret barrel setup, 3d printed at highrez, from (i believe) wax. I machined one before from styrene with brass barrels, but wasn't happy with it.
More on saturday.
Cheers,
Wasili
