				| Any advice on how I might go about bringing something like this off the drawing board and into a physical model?

				| I am unsure if I am directing you to the right resource, but I think Franz Bolo (Tim) might know. Try pm'ing him. I am unsure if he is the right person, but he may have some leads for you.
 Good luck!

 Tom

				| Thanks, I'll send him a PM.
In my line of work, once something like this gets approved by the art director, its sent up the line to the modellers, who take it from there.

				| you could build a 3d model and then get it printed in resin... but thats a bit of a hassel and may cost some bux. so yeah clay model is the best choice. | |

				| I thought so in regards to modelling it in clay. I dunno, after seeing the screens of the lobster spinner in that other thread, I'm kind of toying with the idea of maybe kit bashing a bit and seeing what I can come up with that has the look and feel of a spinner.
I haven't done any sculpting with clay since I was in school, and that was all figure sculpting.
