Woke up this morning with a diorama of this scene built in my head.
Ive got some 2mm faux neon tubing that would kill on some 1/6 scale umbrellas and as lighting trim around the shopfront window,
I know you can buy those plastic magnifying mirrors that can be cut so doing the TVs inside the shop should be ok,the new leds ive been using should light them up nicely.
I have to find another guy to make the 1/6 "origins" cover but that should be ok as well. Finding the 1/6 umbrellas and "extras" figures with the appropriate costuming will be the hardest problem to solve, if anybody can help me find these, it would be a tremendous help. Please let me know if you have any ideas for the diorama.

Are you thinking adding more characters around Deckard; there are plenty of 16 inches figures you could use...one of the challenge also is to make the clothes, and the T.Vs.

Im thinking of at least two other figures with Deck,
Your right J the costumes will be tricky but ive solved the problem of the umbrellas, cocktail umbrellas will do nicely with a bit of 2mm faux neon tubing up the guts.
The TVs will probably end up being matchboxes with an led inside with some thin magnifying stuff in front of it. Hope to do the full shopfront with the sidewalk,
so any ideas on the parking meters and other dressings would be cool, especially which material is best to make the wet look.

Sounds like a really cool project, Tim.

There are quite a few shops on Ebay with 1/6 parts and clothing.

The cocktail umbrella sounds like it could work really well.

Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Tim, good idea for the umbrellas, you could also check the Kent and Barbie doll accessories for other umbrellas, or radio/T.V. or even stores selling stuff for doll houses...eager to see how you'll do all this (the wet stuff is easy: some varnishes have the wet look, or other products used for rivers and falls (train stores have these kinds of products)...so sorry I don't live in Australia; for the pics I could've lended you my Spinner

Maybe we should rename the "studio scale" section into "scale models and figures" section so we could have a good place for all this stuff? Not the Paper, but the 1:6 figure and display that is.

The pieces for doing a 1/6 scale diorama of our introduction to Deckard are starting to come together.
What to use for the TV`s was solved, like most things, by accident. I got a Pana View 2 off ebay to finish off the vid phon but they guy sent me the wrong one. I realised that these would be perfect as they have lights in them already and only require a print out of white noise and geisha girls
on the front, perfect. Have picked up ten of them in different shapes and sizes, some for under 2 bucks.
Never done this kinda project before so nothings being done in any specific order, will start working on the layout of the Faux neon tubing next.

If someone has the capability of putting these letters and kenji into some form that i can have printed out on small strips of paper around an inch high,
it would be a tremendous help.

Thanks j, the slide veiwers have worked out great, just need to stick some lighting in them, the set up in them is not bright enoung. The best thing is that some
of them come with multiple lenses that just pop out, instantly providing more dressings. This is gunna be a much bigger scale than i first thought, cool.

Yes Tim, looking good so far...it's true that when you start dabbling into the 1/6 scale, you discover very fast that your diorama will be big Shocked ...but the amount of details you can cram on that baby will be extraordinary Very Happy

Many thanks as always Neil and joberg.
The background TV`s will only be generic style block units but should still come up ok.
If anyone can help with pics or a scource for pics of the introduction of Deckard scene, it would be a huge help as the film reveals little.

Was stalled getting this started and then all of a sudden a little something arrived from Canada and the rest has fallen into place nicely.

The trash can is a testament to the work and charachter of joberg, who sent me this out of the blue and is the inspiration behind the whole look.
Many thanks mate Cool

These are the tiny units the neon is powered off, everything comes pre-wired and can be all disconnected. The cool thing about them is they
have three settings, fast flash, regular flash and on. Yes, this is all usable for an excellent White Dragon, have already started it, more later.

Still a mountain of work to do.
