Here is a really cool face hugger of the original type, I bought it on Ebay for 14 bucks, It is very clean and detailed, and a very high quality kit. I dont know how this guy can do them for such a low price, other than some economic inversion in Thailand.

My original model got lost in the mail..this guy actually sent me another one 2 day fedex free of charge. I was shocked at what a great seller this guy is. The kit, I have no Idea where he got the molds from, or if it a recast of some other one, but this is a first class model, if anyone wants to know the source of an extremely cheap and cool face-hugger..pm me.

It's cheap because it's a recast.
About 99% of the stuff coming from Thailand is recast.

Looks like it's off the Halcyon kit.

I wish I had time to do the face hugger right now... I put it away for later. I have so many projects going on right now.. Hopefully we can get some very good screen captures on this thread. I have seen many cool models of it, but the color seems to be off on many. to me the color looked not orange-ish, but yellowish, maybe cos it had yellow acid for blood lol Im just trying to figure out how to reproduce this weird color....

This kit has been released in asia also under the AVP2 name.

I owned the original Halcyon kit and used to have it hanging from my ceiling when I was a teenager.

That kit looks like the fingers are actually molded attached. On mine I must assemble them and the body is in 2 parts, and the tail is maybe in 4 parts. I wonder where this kit you just posted came from. Is it made of rubber or something?

No, it's the same kit, just produced by a different company with the legs already attached. It's hard to know now which company owns the original molds. Maybe none of them do!

Keep in mind that the models are the A2 version so the "mouth" area is different.
In Alien Ridley used fresh seafood, Oysters, Clams, Caviar, etc...
The tube was Sheep's intestine.
I have pix of that to if you want them.

Holy Wow! Those are incredible pictures! those colors of your screen captures are right on! You have really snapped some good angles here. That aliens' "guts" are pretty repulsiive, and looks like smoked oysters..YUK LOL! These pics give me an idea of cutting out the models Aliens2 style, and doing something more like this. maybe the color would not be so gray if it was alive in this pic, but there should be a way of making a mass of "yuk" to go in there...

maybe I can molds some oysters and animal entrails LOL...

Thanks so much for the pictures!

I would suggest finding the Alien 2 disk.
It has Ridley talking about the hugger and shows some clips.

Probably the same stuff on the Quadrilogy set But I only watch the 2.
The only ones that matter or exist as far as I am concerned.

A friend of mine once got food poisoning from eating KFC. When I asked him how bad it was, his reply was "You remember that part in Alien, where the thing came outta that dude's stomach?"

wow...that is crazy... just like a guy I work with.. he went to the hospital at 1:00 am recently and when the doctor asked him what the pain felt like (he is a wounded Vietnam vet mind you) he described it as right out of the movie ALIEN. he ended up with only a minor problem from previous injury.. but wow... that movie must have made an impression on people who saw it in a theater... I for one will never forget it.

and KFC LOL! I am just waiting for them to offer at the drive through a can of lard with a straw!

Here is a raw assembled face hugger of the very cheap $14 kit I bought from ebay. Assembly is easy, and here you can see the body parts have been puttied at the seams. It is very easy, trim the seams so they fit closely, then attach the halves of the body bit by bit using cheap super glue.

use a bit of bondo rubbed across the seams and the contours will follow the molded vinyl, the make a few nicks with a razor to break up the seams. Actually for a recast, this kit is great.
finger-smooth on small amounts of painters putty where needed. This is an organic shape, so no need to worry about sanding thinss smooth.

do the whole tail before you attach it to the body, then run it under very hot water and make bends in it where you wish, hold the radius in place for about 30 secs. to 1 minute, and it will keep its shape.

I am going to using the pics by Division 6 on this thread for reference since these actually are the best screencaps I have ever seen of this beast. Notice the silver "fingernails"?

the color in Division 6's Pics he was nice enough to post looks very color correct..almost fleshy yellow consistent with its "blood"

here is a close up of cleaning up the seams with bondo and then a bit of spot putty. If you tool on the stuff in the direction of the details and contours, it will clean up nicely and look organic. then rough in a few nicks at the peak of the contours, it is really very easy..
