This was posted on another forum and I wanted to share it here as it really touched me.
It is about a father and his son. I wont get into details as the article and video do a tremendous job at telling the story.

That story rips me up. I have a daughter with Cerebral Palsy who like Rick,is confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life.
Most parents will do anything for their kid. My base fear is I will never be able to do enough, ever. It's a 24 hour guy eating fear. |

Hey Rick,
I really applaud you for what you are doing! My grandparents raised my aunt who has Cerebral Palsy and it was all day and all night all the time. After they passed away my Grandfather's pension and such went to her so she is still able to live comfortably via United Cerebral Palsy in a house with 3 roommates and 24 hour care staff. She turns 40 this year.
She has it pretty severe and really has no motor skills. As well, when she was younger doctor's tried different things to help her out which ended up really hurting her in the long run. Otherwise, she is always happy and everytime she sees my father, her brother she is the happiest.
I am sure you do all you can and that everything you do she loves. I wish you the best and if you ever need anything or want to talk, let me know.

Glad to see that you made it through yesterday's wild NC weather, Rick. _________________ Pete |

Anytime Rick!! I think that is definitely one of the most positive things about this hobby. Over the years I have been drawn together with people that I would have otherwise never known and I consider them all friends.
In fact, I think that part of it is more important than the hobby itself. The friendships we forge, although online, are still lasting and meaningful. _________________ www.propsummit.com

Thanks!
Fortunately that nastiness was mostly on the other side of the Cape Fear River.
I'm between the beach and the river, about a seven mile width. I had my eye peeled for land bound waterspouts. For some reason people will stand and watch a water spout not realizing it is a wind powerful enough to carry tons of water in a funnel. Getting hit with one of those would be like going over Niagara in a barrel sans barrel! Hey, that's people. Like the ones that stay on oceanfront and have hurricane parties. Few do it more than once. |

It's called Natural Selection. If they're not bright enough to get out of the way of obvious danger, they don't deserve to swim in our gene pool. _________________ Pete |
