As much as I love the "submarine look" of the Nostromo in terms of main control deck, I must admit that the Cobb look is less crowded and seems more like the "open concept" of Prometheus. |

Wow Steve, excellent rendering there! You're right, too roomy for the ex-military/tug transport look of the Nostromo. |

Fantastic vision, Starrigger! I've enjoyed that piece of Cobb's art for decades and more so now in 3D. |

Not really on topic, but thought I would post anyway:
What kind of ship would that Ron Cobb bridge be in? Maybe something between Prometheus and Nostromo.. Promestromo maybe?
Started working on a combo of allot of designs I have seen for Nostromo, hope you enjoy:

I like the ship's design for sure (sleeker in its forms)...as for the main command deck, it looks more like a modern office/flight control tower than a flight deck |

Very interesting take on the "Promestromo"!
The lifter quads look cool embedded as they are in the nacelles.
Perhaps the structural framework of the bridge viewport could be thickened to give the concept more 'weight'?
Otherwise, a nice start. Looking forward to seeing more of your brainstorms! |

Maybe the main control deck should look like the one from the "Betty" in Alien4...or at least that kind of design |

I think I have to agree with you on this one... But not done yet, thinking of a second floor gangway maybe. |

Still working on my first love... The Nostromo...
Some more material testing. Almost feels like it's parked in my backyard...

Beauty Love the angle shot you did on that one; if I was filming the miniature, I would've done the thing! Keep us posted, we love your updates. |

Hope you don't mind that I took the liberty of playing with one of your images?
I can delete it if you do.

Thanks, eh :-]
I was tempted to make that contrail, soot-colored to represent engine exhaust, especially since tugs aren't exactly known for fuel efficient engines, but I couldn't do that to this lady :-]
I just noticed that the shadow on the nose of the Nostromo doesn't quite match the light rays going through the clouds, so I'll likely rotate her a bit and re-upload.
Cheers. |

Don't hold back, CC! You know that even in the sweetest of blue skies, Nostromo is going to be a sooty mote... |

Thanks for the ammo
Do you have a version with the undercarriage retracted?
If not, it's no biggie, but it'd save some time.
I've been trying to render some realistic exhaust for the VTOL engines. _________________
