With all due respect, you must understand that you are an unknown quantity in these parts.
From my short perusal of your post, I picked up two things-
a death notice and a for-sale post.
It's not that I don't believe you for, as you say, you're only relaying information provided to you. But surely there must have been an obituary in the local paper, a death notice, mass card, something.
I only ask as there are some who quite generously want to provide for Siderio's mother. I'd hate and I'm sure you would as well, to have them donating hard-earned money without some degree of assurance that their money was going where intended.
Thanks.

Tom, all I did here is a translation for a person who cannot speak in english and has given me informations about what happened. I havent promoted any charity here, I don't even know what are the conditions of his mother, it's some guys here who came out with it, and I don't feel like promoting it until I don't know more myself.
You are free to believe what you want, and I firmly believe in the freedom of expression, but whenever I have a doubt in my life, the first thing I do is avoiding any speculation, as a form of respect.
I got to know yesterday the day when Siderio left us, the 19th of october, and I don't know if I'm gonna be able to provide more information. I don't think what I have been told is a hoax, may God forgive who dares fooling about someone else's death.
Let's make something clear: I was a complete stranger to the story, I really stumbled into it, but I sort of got involved in it and I want to try and put an end to all the bad things that have been said and done. if I find and post more information, I'll do it because I believe that Siderio deserves some respect and justice, and not to satisfy someone's curiosity..
Again, as a form of respect, feel free to discuss this with me in private, and leave this thread to allow people expressing their condolences.
Cheers

I would like to suggest that Propsummit dot com take the lead and setup a "sticky" on a new thread showing the work of Siderio ranging from pics from his old website to photos taken by owners of his products. In the future, this may be of importance to people trying to determine the heritage of a blaster or other prop replica. I know there are many Sidkit products in the hands of collectors, so having an archive of Siderio made items would, IMHO, be cool as well as a reference for the future.
Just an idea I thought I'd throw out. |

Eltee, I like that idea and think it is a worthy cause.
I am not going to do a thread, I am going to create a section under the Worldcon blaster section here for people to post there thoughts, pictures, and anything else that they wish to post. It will not be a permanent addition, but something to pay tribute to his memory.

Just wanted to take a moment to add my voice to those who've already expressed their condolences.
May you Rest in Peace, Siderio.
I never knew you... only OF you... Only of your work and the admiration others here (who knew you first and better) had for you and the contribution you made to this Community.
My most sincere condolences to your mother and the friends and any family you may have had who you've left behind... I'm sure you'll be thought of - and spoken of - kindly by them just as your memory will be kept alive here in this forum.
May you have Peace. _________________ Memories... You're talking about memories... |

My condolences to Siderio's family.
Outstanding quality props he made. I'm proud to have one on my display cabinet. Sad to hear Siderio has passed away. |

Did anyone ever get Siderio's full name?
The reason I ask is because many obituaries are now online these days.
I don't know how common online obituaries are in Italy; you can usually find them with a Google search here in the USA.
It would be thoughtful if we could post a link to Siderio's obituary and/or eulogy for posterity's sake (if one exists online).
RIP Siderio - your art lives on! |

Sid was a truly decent and talented guy. In his last PM he asked me if I would go over to Birmingham to meet him at the Memorabilia Show.
I can't believe it - this is terrible news. |

The use of the internet for such things in Italy is really really little unfortunately, I have been looking for several hours with no results (Siderio is quite an uncommon name, at least where I'm from!), but nothing has come up, u don't really find obituaries online in Italy
As said before as soon as I get to know more I will inform you guys.
Tomorrow I should finally talk to Michele on the phone, so there might be more informations.
Cheers

Just saw the thread. This is indeed terrible news. Siderio was A+. He really seemed excited by the hobby and had a very nice personality. It is saddening to hear of his loss.
Rest in peace Siderio. |

Sorry about the loss of Siderio.
I did not know him, but I am aware of his talents.
The group here has many skilled members and it's sad when such things happen.
I am sure his memory will live on with his contributions.
Best wishes to his family and friends. |

I'm so devestated to hear this. He was such a lovely guy; very generous and so positive in everything he did. Most of his blaster parts are still the best. It was an honour to know him. |

I have not visited propsummit in awhile so when i logged onto the messageboard a few minutes ago i was shocked and then saddened too see his passing away. What a nice guy he was! A totaly pleasant transaction and a few nice but brief emails with him before his website went down. I knew something was not right when he just vanished. I am looking at his BR SIDKIT sitting on my desk as i type this and saddened that such a talented man is no longer with us in the physical. Saddened is all i can say
Sid, you will not be forgotten, you helped realize a dream for many collectors! THANK YOU. |
