Oh wow! Very cool shots, I like the subtle design consistencies between the crew uniforms and the EVA suits. _________________ Wait; I'm having one of those things! You know; a headache with pictures? |

Seeing this, I understand why Kubrick or Scott wanted all the props and costumes to be burned after the shooting...
Cool find JT... but now give back his mag to Parker !

Funny, but I wasn't focusing my attention on the suit ...but, yeah Fred, I understand the worries of those directors about seeing their stuff used in another film/context. |

I would like to track down all of the suit owners.

Well, from the photos that have surfaced recently on your EVA suit thread on the RPF we can say that the owners of the suits are :
ADULT SUITS :
Dallas : ???
Kane : Stephen Lane / Propstore of London
Lambert : Bob Burns (spare parts)
Ripley : Bob Burns (helmet)
KID SUITS :
Dallas : Bob Burns
Kane : Ridley Scott
Lambert : Arnaud Grunberg / Science Fiction Archives
I wouldn't be surprised to learn one of these days that Ridley Scott also owns Dallas' adult suit...

Bob has the other Kane suit
Note. The parts are mix and matched
Kane soft suit, gloves, boots and ab box
Dallas shoulder pads (bells and neck ring)
Lamberts chest armor
Kane back pack
No helmet though.
The parts are labeled with the actors names.
Ripley white soft suit is at Planet Hollywood in a high dollar suite in Vegas.
Kid Dallas at Bob's is missing the upper armor. He has the helmet though.
There was a Dallas suit at one of the Planet Hollywoods at one time. |

All this talk of suits and locations of suits reminded me that back in 1991 I took some pictures of Ripley's white emergency suit at Planet Hollywood in New York.
The restaurant had only been open for a few weeks I think. They are taken at night with no flash so forgive the quality. But I thought they were worth sharing.

Very interesting photos Colin, thanks a lot for sharing !
It looks like this suit has lacings in the back, just like on Ripley's jumpsuit... Interesting... and different from the "regular" versions worn by Dallas, Kane & Lambert.
I don't know where this helmet came from though (a loan from Bob Burns or a casting from one of the helmets painted white ?) and why it has a lamp ?
(I won't comment on the chest plate and shoulder armor, they look like a joke... )

Thanks for sharing those with us...as Fred said, the lacing seem more complicated on that suit than the other ones And yes, that helmet is also a puzzle... |

That Ripley version is the one thats now in Vegas. The helmet is the version that was scene in the opening sequence of ALIENS...hence the attached lamp. Why they added the lamp no one knows. Also not sure where the helmet originated. Seems it didnt have any interior in it from looking at screen grabs etc.
The armor is hideous and a very poor attempt .
First shots Ive ever seen of the back of the Ripley undersuit!!
There was a complete Lambert in John Mollos collection up until a few years ago then not sure where it is today.
Would be fun to amke a complete list of all the known parts.
I do know where a set of original Lambert Chest armor is currently sitting!

When Danita made the white suit she cursed a lot. LOL
There is a TON more work put in to that one. it is a one peice jump suit with a zipper front and a a lot of little taps for lace.
Vs. the Other suit which are a top and bottom with Velcro closures. |

I remember a while ago Steve you were making a clear visor to go on a helmet that had the acid-burned hole in the front with part of the facehugger showing, so it looked like Kane's helmet after the facehugger attack. It was a work in progress photo, but it was looking great. What happened to it, did you finish it in the end? |
