I know this was already discussed in another thread but I wanted to open a specific topic about Richie armor's A L I E N eva suit...
Some of you already know I'm a huge fan of Sir Ridley's other scifi film and, well... I was very lucky to get the first helmet produced by Steve & Richie ! (I've helped them the best I could last year on their project, this was a very cool way to say thank you !)
What can I say about this gorgeous prop ?
The detailing is amazing, it's 99% close to the original helmets produced for the film (I'm also talking about the interior, here)... but it's not a surprise since they've recreated it using the same process and techniques that were initialy used by the Freeborn company ! Even the lights (yes, it's fully lighted !) work the way they did on the originals !!!
Here is a first look at this beauty... I've spent many hours looking at it in amazement since I received it last friday... (it was a sunny afternoon when I took the pics, the light was amazing, too !)
ENJOY !
Fred
PS : BTW, Richie & Steve are going to recreate the WHOLE suit... I'll keep you updated as soon as I have fresh news !!!

Truly one of my favorite costume props ever, from my second favorite movie. A friend of mine here in Rochester is on the list to get one and at least I will get to look at one close up. Congrats to to you and count me envious

Its good to see some familiar faces here!! Thanks for the invite . This is a beautiful site full of excellent props!!
Fred. Glad all arrived fine! Steve did a wonderful job and its a pleasure being involved in the project. The remainder of the costume will be out very soon. Lots to do to prepare for its debut at Wonderfest.
Stay tuned and well post pics of the progress. Until then visit our Myspace for more periodic updates.
A special thanks to Karl for his amzing help which without many of the fine details of the helmet wouldnt have been possible!!

Holly shit Fred !...that's what i call a thing of beauty ...i know you were waiting for it but the final result is simply awesome !!
Now what you just need is to wear it ( with lights on) and take a good shot of yourself _________________ I know what you're thinking...did he fire six shots or only five ?
Well to tell you the truth, in all the excitement i kind of lost track myself... |

Karl you will soon! Steve popping them out pretty quickly but theres tons of work to each helmet so they take some time to assemble, paint etc. Im dropping off the parts I do on my end this week so more will be ready soon.

Fred or Rich,
What are the dimensions of this helmet? I know that it's big, but I'm trying to figure out where it will fit in my collection room.
Could you tell me what the overall height is from the base to the top of the light, and the overall width?
I'm sure I'll have to move some stuff around to make room for this beauty, but I'm not sure how much stuff. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

I would simply start with adding a complete addition to your prop room!!!
Its approx 19" tall by 17 " at its widest.

Well, that was my first thought.
Thanks for the info! It's big, but I should be able to make room. _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |
