They seem to be sold out at the moment, but it doesn't look that hard to replicate if you have the tools. Maybe we should see about doing a group run for these.

....the key word here...so far...is "WE"....being both old and having zero talent for organizing and creating a Blaster stand...my hope (springs eternal even in an old mans breast) was that there was such a stand in existance that simply required my....money....(sily me) clearly I am living in a fools paradise....that being said...If ANYONE on the Forum can take ownership of the aforementioned "Group" project...please step forward and know that I am ready willing and able to pay my share..... |

The Hartford acrylic stand has been sold out for a long time. They do appear now and again on the auction sites.
I have the Hartford stand and also several other similar types of acrylic gun stands. The nice thing about the Hartford stand is that is was specifically made for the BR Blaster, and holds it both securely and horizontally. Other "universal" stands are likely to hold the Blaster at an angle, which isn't necessarily bad, but could look odd depending on how steep the angle is. Also, because of the unusual flat bottom created by the Blaster's magazine housing, the model may not sit too comfortably on a "universal" stand, most of which seem to have curved rather than flat recesses for supporting the firearm.
The idea of a group run is excellent. The stand would be relatively simple to make, and something a lot of members could use. _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!"

I already have put together dimensions for a stand that would work with most of the blaster replicas. It is pretty square and all we would need is someone who could cut them out of plexi, polish, and then bend them with a hot wire. I once made a hot wire out of a 'seal a meal'. Worked okay with styrene .
My dimensions are hand drawn, but I will try to make a digital version if anybody wants them.

Great for forming replica props... or for sealing in goodness!
Thanks, Pilot! _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!" |

....I have ordered a couple of very simple acrylic pistol stands from "Shorty USA" and should have them in a week ....they were on sale for about six bucks a pop...and even if they don't fit perfectly I can probably get them modified....would much prefer to have the Hartford stand I have seen all over this forum....it looks simole and elegant...anyone wishing to persue this will certainly have my support....count me in for three or four of them.... |
