What is interesting is that the metal front piece between the wheels doesn't appear in the ERTL advertisement. I think it was added later to help keep the front axel rod from bending or deforming. _________________

worth getting the full set if you can. I found the full set box at a flea market for £2!! plus the cars were still sealed in the box! |

This is the only pic I have handy of my display/shipper box. I will post more later of the complete set if you guys want?
I do kind of wish they had decided agaist that post in between the front wheels, but I have a feeling it may have been foced upon them for safety, since little kids may have obtained them. Nothing like having a mini wire cheese slicer in you pocket. Could probably peel a carrot or two too. I have thought about removing it from one of my more "played with" loose ones, to make a custom. When I get around to it
