Added more Alien(s), but this is still Propsummit just a little expanded. Have no fears, we still have a great community and nothing is changing just adding a little more to talk about.
Thank you all once again for being here!

I moved some of the Alien threads to fill out the new topics. I hope that is cool with all.

Looking good, Andy !
(but same as JT, I hope we will mainly keep focused on the first movie)
Just a comment : Shouldn't the ALIEN PROPS section be subtitled "Props and prop discussion from Ridely Scott's Alien" instead of "Props and prop discussion from the movie franchise Alien", since all the other Alien movies props are supposed to be discussed in the SEQUEL PROPS section...

and if we dont have the word "Franchise".
ALIEN...is good enough.
an "alien Franchise"?
that is akin to a McDonalds or Burger King franchise...
What comes to mind is "garbage" |

Thanks, Tom.
(Oh, by the way, you wrote "Ridely" instead of "Ridley")

OK, something completely different :
I was thinking that maybe we could have a new section on the board only displaying the most essential threads ever created here...
Why ?
Because essential information is rather difficult to find sometimes, especialy when the threads they are in aren't on the front line anymore...
I would also suggest this because I think it would (maybe) avoid to have XX threads with 2 or 3 posts related to the same subjects...
Call it "propsummit's finest", "propsummit hall of fame" or whatever you'd like to name it , I think it would be a good idea to have this kind of thing now here...
What do you think, guys ?
Threads I'd like to see there :
Blaster chronology by andy
Worldcon photos by Karl
Wiskey bottle thread by oncebitten
Chess game by Rick Ross
Cop patches by offworld
etc...
THe threads wouldn't be locked, just placed in a place where their very useful info could be easily found (that's the main idea).

I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but I wouldn't mind having everything related to the blaster in one section only:
Andy's lists/descriptions of various blasters.
Built blasters (all of them so far).
Photos of the real prop + auction pics.
Sidkit's instructions for his blaster...etc. Like a one stop info topic: everything and anything you always wanted to know about the blaster. |

I like the ideas, but it is a little hard to do without shaking some things up. I wonder if I could employ a tag system. So if you are posting in the main prop discussion area for BR, you tag your post that it is about the Blaster.
Then there is a series of options that if you select blaster, you will see only those posts tagged with blaster...
It would take some work, but lets talk about it. _________________ www.propsummit.com

Just curious to know whether there is a place on the board to find out about membership developments -- specifically, banned members.
On Friday morning, when I went off on a business trip, AKU-AKU was an active participant in several threads, and had recently posted a helpful photograph regarding possible donor caps for the Once-bitten JWB Bottle.
Returned from my trip yesterday and logged on this morning to find AKU-AKU banned.
I browsed around a bit looking for clues as to what happened, but couldn't find anything.
Is there a specific place to look on the board for this kind of information?
Thanks! _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!" |

Hey Gary -
It came to our attention that AKU-AKU might be yet another appearance by Guy Raz. A member of the RPF with the same screen name was banned back in July for being a sockpuppet of Raz's, so we took a closer look at him. Based on a number of different factors, we determined that it was, most likely, him. His appearances and bannings in the past had created such a furor, that the last few times we found him we decided not to publicly announce it in the name of board harmony.
Sorry if this caused any confusion. _________________ Pete |

Thanks for the quick response and information, Pete.
And, may I say, well done. _________________ "Your old titles mean nothing here... Captain!" |
