I have been talking via email with Siderio and I think some very exciting things are being planned not only for this replica, but for this online community (Propsummit).
I hope that everything will happen as we have been discussing and that everyone, collector, builder, maker, hobbyist, will benefit.
Stay tuned!!

Great work Siderio!
Keep the pictures and updates coming. It's fascinating to see the progress already and very nice to hear all of the planned improvements like pre-wired electronics and no glue necessary.

Sorry for the tease, but I think people will appreciate all that is being done. Sharing information is a huge part of this hobby, and I believe we will see that soon enough in regards to the Blade Runner Blaster. _________________ www.propsummit.com

Ok, I know that this may not be a big deal to some, but I created a SubForum here to discuss the WordlCon Blaster. I hope that we can all come together and post about our discoveries so that we can see the perfect replica from whoever decides to offer it.
While there is really only a few people who offer a BR Blaster, I am hoping that everyone will benefit and contribute to this new SubForum. I see great things coming from people like Siderio, Coyle, Rick Ross, and the makers of the OffWorld model. I think that to benefit the community of Blade Runner fans, compiling this information in one place and discussing the ideas, practices, and discoveries of this amazing blaster we will see something truly beautiful.
Anyway, I hope to see this as a thriving success in offering us fans a place to discuss the Blade Runner Blaster. _________________ www.propsummit.com

I know you probably already have this covered Siderio, but will the new version have the newly discovered way that the bolt plate turns in the barrel with the retractable point on the Steyr?
I hope that makes sense
IMO the ammo clip should be plastic as is the original _________________ Look out at the shattered weeping millions,

Planet two,
yes the new replica it will have the bolt plate turns in the barrel with the retractable point on the Steyr. Your question have sense. How much of us would like the old sliding bolt with not turnable barrel?
Thanks for your question

Yes Sid and I are talking.
I have said all is forgiven and I mean it.
He got ripped by the guy that sold the model to him.
I have had that done to me in my early years.
I am thinking of working together.
No matter what we end up doing, we are OK.

"That's the spirit!"
Looking forward to seeing what you both come up with in future, either in partnership or in friendly competition. Best of luck to you both.

Wow! Exciting news indeed.
They say 2 pair of eyes is better than 1. Hopefully with a collaboration by such talented manufacturers the result will be superb! _________________ I find your lack of faith disturbing. . . |

Dear Richard,
I am very happy we can work together to this project. I want that the people know we are trying to reduce the price and give the best product is possible.
As you know Richard are the first one that opened the blastrer gun door. Now thanks his works and karl's discovered all people can try to make their own WorldCon Replica. The interesating thing is that me and Richard are working to make the best replica ever seen for the most affordable price. We also state that a lot of people are giving their supports to this new project and we will give to them the credits. So please support us! Richard talked with me about is idea to reduce the price on the build up models mantaining an high standard qulaity and we have talked about a strategy to do that. He will help me with my model and I will make a more lower cost casting process so the new Richard build up model will cost more less than in the past. I can assure we will able to do this.

You guys sure have given a lot to the world of props - and my Firefly / Serenity collection is no exception.
Note the Siderio "Metal Mal" on the left and the RAC Props Jayne's "Boo" on the right.
Both are great pieces, which I really dig!
Thanks,
oldzey

No one should worry about the quality of a SidKit. Mine was the first metal kit I ever assembled- and it came out very nicely. You can't beat the pride of building it yourself- and since he is doing away with the epoxy, there will be no excuse for buyers not to finish building the new kit.
Siderio- After happily working to "WorldCon" the previous kit, the only thing I would like to add to the one I built is a larger grip frame, grips and butt-plate. Is there any possibility of making those parts available to upgrade your previous customers? Or will those parts only fit your new model? Any chance of making the new hollow green led rod and electronics available as an upgrade kit?
I vote to see the ammo housing in plastic for accuracy. |
