Hey all, long time viewer, first time poster.
I've had a running minor obsession with the BR Blaster for YEARS now, and finally picked up an Offworld last year.
But...
It just wasn't enough. I had to have something mead of actual metal
I finally broke down and got a SidKit as my Christmas gift to myself. Many experiments, lots of filing, and more toxic chemicals than are really healthy, and I've finally finished. No, it's not WorldCon accurate (I'm currently modding my Offworld to be so).
Curious to hear what your thoughts are!

Is the metal it's made of pretty soft? Do you have any concern with driopping it, for example?

I have had no problems with mine ...BY THE WAY ,YOU DID A NICE JOB! ....GREAT IDEAS TOO!
Why is it that whenever somebody mentions SIDKIT somebody has to add "is it soft" instead of hey nice job or how'd ya get that finish etc...
HOW HARD DOES IT HAVE TO BE FOR YOU ?
IT's NOT A REAL GUN!
the real benifit to it being metal is that the builder can attain a more lifelike look and feel not to throw around the room ...am I right ?

Well, I certainly wouldn't want to be kicking down the concrete or anything like that, but the metal probably wouldn't do much more than scratch or ding a bit if I did. It's pretty solid.

Thanks! I wish the photos did it better justice, it's dark, but it's not quite black. It's a dark metallic graphite color (actually finised with colloidal graphite), but it seems that the metallic sheen kind of got blown out when I photographed it. Ah well, these things happen. Perhaps I'll have to reshoot. |
