Someone with some artistic ability* should design an "Air Jordan" silhouette out of the BR silhouette (trenchcoat, gun drawn and all with the tennies sticking out).
*and that does not include me. |

That's a great idea Oldzey!
These shoes have turned out to be very comfortable by the way...though they don't have great traction on slick surfaces!
I think it's a pretty interesting contrast, maybe it's already been thought of...
Have you considered the similarities/differences between the J.W. "Walking-Man" and the BR-"Running-Man"? |

I recently bought this painting from a friend... He's the best french sci-fi illustrator, go check his site here :
http://www.manchu-sf.com/
Regarding this painting, he did it for a book cover, but it immediately made me think of a Off-World scene : The character on the right could be Batty, lurking in the shuttle pads area, looking for a way to go to earth...
Nice, hu ?

Very nice! Reminds me of Chris Foss's work. _________________

You're right, Chris Foss is one of his main influences ! (we can notice that in the strange "takeoff structure" in the foreground)
But Manchu is also a great "Space Art" artist... as an official member of the "Mars Society", he has done great paintings on the future "conquest" and terraforming of Mars... (check the Space Art section on his site, you'll see what I'm talking about)
He's also an amazing kit builder... He's constructed my Sidkit blaster !

Here's a little inspiration for those who feel the need to have a future credit card:

Here is a photo of a 1980 Renault car prototype... It could have been driven by Deckard in the streets of 2019 LA, don't you think ?
The car wasn't produced, alas...

Renault* has a design team devoted to futuristic cars! This model is from 1980? Wow. A very very nice Deckard's Sedan!!! Anyone available? My collection needs some new... perhaps a "car category"...
(* only as reference, this is a Citröen... ) _________________

Here is a photo I took last year while visiting Stockholm... These mannequins would have deserved to make a cameo appearence in BR... preVID-PHON heads !

Did you notice this camera in Sky Captain?? |

200€ when you're "lucky" enough to find one !!!
Here is another renault car that looks a little bit like one of Syd Mead's concepts for a mini-car (take a look at Sentinel)... Would have been unoticed in the streets of 2019 LA, hu ?
BTW, the name of this one is "Citroën Eco 2000 SA109" (also a prototype, this time made in 1984). _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST |

Wow. Well, as I said in other posts... High prices something normal these days. Seems like some sellers are aware of collectors "needs" and exploit them to maximum... _________________

Well, I rather think that in this case it's because it was produced as a garage kit a few years ago and instantly became rare... _________________ THE FUTURE IS A THING OF THE PAST |

And with Ebay the collectors in fact "exploit" themselves. As a person who once sold Antiques and collectables when ever somebody would ask "what is it worth" I would say "only what someone is willing to pay". I do think that the "Collectables Fad" has made many things much more pricey than they probably should. Most collectors like stamp and coin collectors only start collecting something because it is cheap to begin with. Just because something is "collectable" should't mean that it is inhearantly valuable. I blame the speculators myself. Same with the stock market. |

I agree... and eBay (besides its good side : You can find a lot of things you're looking for at almost any moment) made it worse by making the offer global, infinite, worldwide...

ELDA armchair by Joe Colombo.
I like Colombo's work a lot, especialy this armchair (his masterpiece) that reminds me of a certain Deckard's piece of furniture we all noticed a long time ago...
