Hello all,
I was curious to see what all the different blasters out there look like.
I got this image on another forum, but I believe it might be originally off the RPF. If the person that owns it wants it taken down, please pm me.
I added the Rick Ross PKD v2 to the bottom of the image.
I understand that these are not accurate to the worldcon blaster, but I thought it would be interesting to see all the different kits in one place.
If possible, it would be great if we could get the same angle on all the pictures, eitherway, I welcome all pictures
edit: dont forget, you can now use Propsummit to host your images for use here. Just click the UPLOAD button on the top right of the screen.
edit: thanks to David below, I added the C&S Blaster V4
edit: Just added the Hartford m2019 as well

Excellent. I have been working on something similar for a while now but you did it better in a very short time. I am just teaching myself photoshop right now. I think the hartford blasters should be in there as well. I will look to see what else I have as well. |

Very cool Andy, I started doing this after I saw the original picture of just the WorldCon, MiM, and Sidkit. I thought it would be cool to see them all lined up.
If you post pics of anything you have, I will add them to the pic |

Unfortunately all the pics I have are from ebay and the such. I don't own too many of these guns(yet)...I will try to take some pics of my early coyle stunt clone. There is also a good pair of shots of an actual stunt at screen used. Hartfords website doesn't have any good pics in profile. I may post my detail poster of the leftside of the guns cylinder cover and trigger gurde that I use for IDing guns. |

hmm, I recognise that SIDKIT!
AH HA! It's MINE!!! Blimey, now I see it up close with the original blaster, I can see how much I need to do to the trigger guard and the butt plate!

I've been playing with the various versions in Photoshop comparing dimensions to the hero blaster. I can see why Rich says he'll be redoing most of the parts. I don't know if I have the patience, but an overlay of the outlines of the various guns would be very interesting. What I have been working with is photos on separate layers that can have the transparency varied for comparison. The grip length, for example, really does seem quite a bit longer on the hero.

Thanks for the fine photos I hope you dont mind them being used here. As well, did you finish your blaster? If so, any pics, did I already see them at the RPF? Bah, post them anyway... the more the merrier!!

You're welcome! Unfortunately, my dayjob (modelmaking) gets in the way of my hobby (er, modelmaking), so I have only done a little tweaking to it since putting it together, thanks to Karl's pics: modded the slide so it's held in place by the small domed screw behind the safety, and added the fifth LED, I need to reshape the trigger guard and butt plate, and anything else that I can pick up from the bumper bundle of pics I downloded from this very forum!
Thanks for the effusive welcome, I'll try and post some more pics in a new thread! |

That would be great! I think it will be real interesting to see what is needed to get the sidkit, or any other kit for that matter to match the WorldCon.
BTW, what type of modelmaking are you doing for your day job?

I will be showing what it takes soon, I am molding some of the corrected parts already, and hope to be doing some compleated models within a few weeks.
Please stand by...

it has been a good couple of months for a BR fan...the release of the remastered DVD, The apearance of the Hero Blaster at worldcon and Karls pics, Meeting Syd Mead personally at my old school, the reapperance of Rick Ross, and now the next version of Rich's blaster is coming soon...I am getting giddy |

Very cool Rich! I hope you can maybe give us a step by step of what you did and had to change. I know that the information you would possibly provide could cause concern, but as for the education aspects for us collectors would be astounding.
BTW, I just added pictures of the Hartford to the comparison picture in the first post. The pictures came from the following website: http://www.modelguns.co.uk/m2019_blaster.htm I am currently awaiting for an email back from them regarding the use of their pictures, but for the time being I thought it wouldnt hurt using them. If anyone believes otherwise, please let me know.
Thanks!!

Here are some pics of the hartford, then along side the coyle Ver4.
Hartford:
This picture, though blurry, shows that they inserted a metal plate backing the grips.
The resulting effect is that you cannnot see the mainspring or grip shape through the grip.
Not that it ever bothered me.
I do prefer the shape of Coyle's Ver4 trigger guard above all others.
But there is so much metal on the hartford grips, and the trigger pull is so sharp and solid it feels like a real gun.
Alos of note is that the Hartford is a bit smaller than Richard's, and I definately prefer the size of the bigger gun. I wish I had the money to get one of Rich's metal models, perhaps in the future I can get one.

Great thread!
I was planning to do images of some of my guns today BUT state film commision people want to meet Thursday and Friday so time to tidy up the conference room where all my BR stuff is!
I think a relatively large production is coming our way. They are being very tight lipped. |
