Hello All
I got sent some more pics of the blaster by my friend. Y'all got such a kick out of them last time, I thought i'd share.

He has had it cleaned and systamtically restored since last time by some pros.
Enjoy!

Wait! I see everyone saying how nice it is and all. but, Is this THE REAL BLASTER that was cleaned up and restored?
it's not a Tomen, I don't see any of the tells. The receiver doesn't look like pot metal but it has the right serial number, some detail are extremelu close, some are a bit weird. I don't understand what this is...
Can you explain please?

This is the gun that was posted years ago and alluded to be the mysterious legendary ‘second hero’ but was ultimately shown to be just a very good replica. Look back at Rocket Boy’s earlier posts to see his initial reveal.

Yes, the mysterious "second hero gun" Defo the best replica of the real hero of the film. The slotted screw is in and I'm sure it would be difficult to see the differences in details between the real and this copy.
Amazing work for sure Shocked Shocked Cool Cool

The joins, fit and finish on the receiver are too soft for it to be a real Steyr
The flat areas are not 'flat' enough, not sharp.

Pretty Impressive build. Guessing the Steyr receiver is from a Richard Coyle cast. Has some of the same fit issues. Still had to look at it a few times to make sure it wasn't the Hero gun. Thank you very much for sharing.

It's an amazing build. I remember that even the scratches on the butt cap matched the hero. I recall from the original thread that Richard thought it was one of his kits. It's a shame the owner was probably duped and spent a lot more money on it than he should have.

Nice replica.
But look closely at the front trigger : in my opinion, only Tomenosuke (and Takagi) managed to do it exactly how it should be : if you examine the two triggers, they have the same curve and length. Here, the front one is slighty too long, less curved and the curve seems "rotated".

Compare the triggers on the Hero prop, Tomenosuke and others and you'll see. I wonder why it's so difficult to get it right.

Very nice! It appears that the cylinder cover on the lever side has been repaired or replaced. Damn! It looks almost perfect, but my opinion is it’s a Coyle Kit.

Crickey I love this blaster!

We do seem to be going round in circles though.
Most agreed the last time it was posted all those years ago that it was not a Sidkit or Coyle. Even Rich didn't recognise anything of his kit. As a lucky owner of a Steyr Receiver I can tell you this is also one. No question. You can tell from so many things, even the close up of the blued finish. The grips are too big for Coyle and the colour is way too good for a Sidkit. From the previous post we can see there is a real Charter Arms cylinder inside. Then there is the ammo housing; Rich and I agreed it was most likely production made as this is too difficult to copy, but one was out there for sale many years ago. The grip frame and butt plate anyone can see is aluminium. The Receiver has also been filled and re-stamped with the correct serial number.

So, this is clearly a no-expense spared production. They have also had that side damage repaired beautifully. The only two issues I have with it is, why was it damaged if it was an super copy of the original, with the damaged aluminium side plate clearly painted over and secondly, why the wires are done slightly differently. That point also bugged Richard. If you are going to make an amazing copy like this, why these two issues?

Anyway, last time we concluded it best not to tell the owner that he had probably paid an enormous sum for a fake. However, incredibly accurate it might be......
