(I questioned whether to post this here or within 'Blade Runner Aesthetic'.)

I ran across a notice online of the opening in downtown LA of a new nightclub "experience" on November 1, in keeping with the date of the first BR film.

neotropolisbar.com

The NEOTROPOLIS BAR, while denying any ties to the films, is heavily influenced by 80's cyberpunk with a decided lean toward the look and feel of the original Blade Runner's environment. At the time of this note, the website has only conceptual renderings.

Although I will not be able to experience it, I thought it worth mention. Perhaps those fortunate enough to visit might comment or post actual pictures on The Summit.

Entry is pricey, but the next best thing to being in that parallel world of 2019.

I didn't think to post anything on this earlier... I did my annual Blade Runner pilgrimage this past November and included an evening at Neotropolis as part of my fun.

I enjoyed my time there. Blade Runner inspired, and cyberpunk informed, the environment and staff created a memorable experience. I went on a day where a number of folk were attending Blade Runner celebrations/events and so we had a good number of no-staff show up in costume.

I'll post a few photos in this thread, but you would get a better sense of how it went by looking at Neotropolis' Facebook page (if it is still up: the creators are now working on a Neotroplis event - the creators are also the folks who came up with the Wasteland event).

Very sad. That place looked really cool. Wish I could afford some of the stuff there.
