just a question, the glue products you are recommending are the same you already used or they are different and should work better?
if they are the same, chances are that the problem will appear again in a while. If it didn't happen for every box, I guess it might depend on the place we live or something. I mean, I haven't touched that box for a while and when you posted that, I opened it and it was completely wobbly and unglued, I guess something happened because of the heat or something like that.

Hi Eethan,
I've used the manufacturer recommended glue on this material combination for decades with no problems.
I suspect they changed the formlation recently. I don't think it has anything to do with heat or location, etc.
That said, the test samples I made before the run are still glued fine. I don't know why.
The glues I've suggested, Evo Stik and Thixofix, are different from the original glue and should certainly fix the issue.
The reason I didn't use them on the run is that they are solvent heavy and smell strongly. But if you use them and then leave the box open for a few days, it should be OK. |

are we sure the solvent based glue will not disolve the foam? I was surprised to read that when you wrote solvent but I'm no expert on that. |

Most glues are solvent based. The glue that didn't work perfectly is solvent based.
The suggested glues won't dissolve the foam into a mess.
I suggest that you coat both surfaces to be bonded, then wait until touch dry before pressing firmly but gently together.
