just confirmed I had the same problem, said thank you for offering to fix it and sent a mail to you. I'm well aware you are aware of the issue, I didn't make a big deal out of it, just informed I had the same issue...
thanks |

Just to remind everyone else.
There's no need to post anything here on the thread.
Just email me if you have the chain problem and I'll get a new one out to you.

Many thanks,

OK, the new chain is on the way.
Will everyone who wants a replacement lid chain please email me, if they haven't done so already?
I only have three so far....

so, is it R13's ebay account? or is someone using your work? I guess it's good for people to know if they can buy from this guy or if he is using people's work.

Please do not buy anything from that dirtbag Ebay seller.
He's stolen my ideas and R13's work and is openly selling them.
Also, I do resent the accusation that it was R13's Ebay account on his behalf. Dave is a good guy and would never have done this.
He is unable to respond at the moment, but I'm certain he'll weigh in.
Thank you,
Karl |

I've contacted the Ebay seller.
I doubt it will do any good.
He has a lot of other items for sale, the designs no doubt stolen as well.
The blatant theft of the design is depressing....
He stole the silver version too.

I just got this from the seller:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No theft intended. Saw the plate on Google images and thought it was a commercial piece. And no, all of my other plates are of my own design. I will remove the listings today when I return home and come up with my own design. My apologies. If it s any consolation, my Cap shield data plate has been copied by several people...flattering and aggravating at the sae time.

ok good to know that it was from a third person. by the way, it wasn't an accusation that it was R13 ebay account, just a question, I showed you that listing to know if it was something you guys decided to sell or if someone stole your work.
cratercriter, it becomes annoying that you always edit your messages, the conversation is always messed up |

Eethan,
Thanks for that.
The implication wasn't that you had suggested it was R13's account.
Cratercritter had suggested it was and then amended the message later.

yeah yeah no problem I guessed you were talking about cratercriter message and then my answer but I don't think he meant it in a negative way, it was more a question I think, it's what I meant too. Not everything is always negative
It's always crazy to me that people a stealing stuff on internet and they don't realize that a person did it, he thought "it was a commercial piece", what does that even mean, if it's commercial you can steal it? I don't get people stealing ideas, sorry, it always makes me go crazy...
hopefully that will be it and he will remove the auction.
cheers |

I amended my message because I am allowed to. The conversation
was not messed up by my editing. I don't always edit my messages,
although the option to edit our messages is always there.... apart from the
Quote function.
I admit it was poorly worded after I saw that Skin-Job interpreted
my message in a negative manner....The message did not correctly convey what I actually intended.
Wrong choice of word combination so I went back and amended it. I saw how some would choose to interpret it the way I did not intend. |

Er.....
How exactly did I misinterpret 'It looks like R13's Ebay account'?
This is more or less the statement which was edited out of your original post, correct?
I think you owe R13 an apology, Tony.

OK, ALL!
NO - It was NOT me!
Selling the medallion (IF I had the resources and time to mess with reproducing it) would be slightly counter-productive, don't ya think? Not to mention it would conflict with the gentleman's agreement Skin-job and I have had for over 5 years now and continue to maintain. So, don't be too quick to "assume".
Unfortunately, for the last several hours my internet was down, so until now I couldn't respond to any hearsay or accusations. We've had several days of extreme cold here, with rain, sleet a bit of snow and ice. That and, no doubt, increased activity on the local network has resulted in slow and sporadic service, taking the internet down completely this AM.
So. Whether or not the guilty party stold our idea or came up with it independently, as with everything on the internet, once it's out there, it becomes difficult to police it, even if you ARE a Rep Detective.
That is EXACTLY why I have hesitated time and again to post my artwork at a reasonable size. No doubt you'd see it all too shortly offered on eBay, Etsy or the like at some rip-off price, even if I made it available here for free.
I DO understand the concerns and no damage was done, IMO. So, getting off my soapbox now . . .

And, if any such item connected to our projects was offered by me, the production would be handled by Skin-job OR we would make it EXTREMELY plain that we agreed that it falls outside of our joint ventures.
My magazine covers might be a good example (if I ever chose to do so).

I do not owe anyone an apology directly. The fact that I deleted my message promptly and reworded my post clearly indicates that I agreed with you Skin-Job that it was effectively "not a good choice of words". What I wrote was not what I meant to convey... missing one or two words.
Sorry if I caused any confusion or distress to anyone who read my initial post. My mistake.
I have no problem with R13 / Skin-Job selling the plaques.
Others who steal or use his/ other people' artwork / plaque without permission is obviously no good. |

Understood Critter, but perhaps a quick inquiry by PM would have avoided all of this. Too many things can happen because of the wording, miscommunication or misinterpretation of what is said vs. what is meant.
I was finally able to access the eBay listing noted above. I am however curious why it might be suggested a foreign listing would be from me(?) as it is not even in English. And I am not quite THAT devious.
Yes, it's an obvious copy, blatantly using my design - no one else could possibly design something identical simply by chance. Unfortunately, I cannot read the listing's content or make any response.
