Kinda dropped the ball on updating since ive been busy building.....
Swapped the plastic Off-World parts for metal
Right side cover on, as well as the magazine housing. Added my real Weaver knob and binding post as well.
Mockup, next to add the tabs for the receiver and then drill and tap for the front screws....getting close!
Once its all on I have to trim the left side cover to fit, as its meant for a .44 and hits the receiver, but it should be easy enough. Then painting, bluing sanding, and aging, and making sure im happy with all the screws and hardware.
SO close now, but trying not to get ahead of myself. I did a bit and cracked the magazine housing and had to glue it back together, Its unbelievably hard to get the mix of real, coyle, offworld, and misc parts to all work out! |

Tab for the receiver mounted with epoxy...same will happen for the other side and when I know they are lined up I will drill and tap and mount them more permanently! |

SWEET!! I love it that some one is able to use parts I can't anymore.
Great solution for recreating the logs used to attach the upper receiver.
Just an fyi when you blue the OFW receiver make sure it is really clean and grease free. I have blued about 3 OFW receivers and they have a tendency to show "swirls " in the metal. Blue, and with really fine steel wool, repeat as needed until your satisfied with the look.
Hat tip, really nice job! _________________ "No choice pal,..."

Just an FYI be REALY REALY careful drilling holes in an OFW receiver.
I have broke three that way. I super glue or JB weld to them.
The receiver you have is the last version they produced and is the sturdiest of their production runs,.. Try J-B Weld 8267 SteelStik Steel Reinforced Epoxy Putty Stick - 2 oz. $4.75 -Amazon.
I use it all the time.
Just say'n
looks good by the way. _________________ "No choice pal,..."
