|

Not only is there now a section in the new edition of Future Noir on the blaster (albeit with a couple inaccuracies), Propsummit also gets a mention in the same section, as do a few of the fans in the acknowledgements (including yours truly ). Lots of new stuff in the new one that we haven't seen yet, so well worth picking up the new copy, even if you have a previous version. Also on sale at Amazon last I checked.
Many thanks go to Paul M. Sammon. The author of what we call "the Blade Runner Bible".

Was just about to re-read this.
New edition is most welcome.
And very cool that Propsummit gets a mention!

The new edition is wonderful, but I don't think I've ever seen a book with so many errors. Missing words, missing letters, spelling errors, a host of other formatting errors. It's as though it didn't get proofread. |

He has actually asked for help with corrections for the ebook version, especially about the props. Not sure if he no longer has proof readers or not, but he has promised to at least credit those with information and sources.

Interesting. I would have assumed the publisher would have taken responsibility for proofreading.
Edit: Given that Dey Street's official webpage is a tumblr account, I'm guessing they're a real mickey mouse outfit. Still, as an imprint of Harper Collins, I'm surprised. |

Proofreaders are becoming a dying breed now days now that everything is being digitized with spell check machines. Not to mention a lot of these jobs are being reduced. Doesn’t surprise me at all.

Agreed, there's obviously a lot of new material in it, this volume is much thicker than the first edition. |
