So apparently a Tomenosuke Pro Retailer Edition was aged by "a Hollywood prop house", for use as Deckard's gun in the new movie.

In other news, preorders for the reduced-price "Blaster 2049" begin March 10.

Still doesn't explain the other blaster on the bar....
I think that's the one we're all interested in. Wonder if that mysterious "prop house" can enlighten us on that one.

So basically they went over the painted parts with an acetone soaked rag and called it a day.

All I can say is that the original Blaster will not be upstaged by the new one - not even close.

So it really is just a model car muffler with a pistol grip?

I don't know how I feel about the production simply using a Tomenosuke Pro. On one hand that means I already own the most screen accurate prop for the new film. On the other hand we won't have a new blaster to research (the new gun doesn't excite me at all). No CSI-type screen caps or greeblie hunting. I'm a little saddened.

Perhaps there will be a replicant with a very cool gun which we do not know of. Can only hope! Rick Ross has this 3D file that is amazing. How cool would THAT be??

To be fair, this is one of several that were delivered to set, correct? Also, in 95 percent of the shots showing the blaster, I doubt that we will come close to seeing the detail rendered in these simple photos, so "good enough" might have been the attitude.

Hopefully it does not have cheesy "sci-fi" grips and a clunky toy gun trigger guard too.

You have confirmed my worst fears/nightmare. I had hope Ridley and Co. would have created something truly iconic and special. Lets hope they have blown the budget on a decent script. Embarassed Sad Crying or Very sad ?
