Thanks very much Fred,
Ive managed to find the parts i need to make one more. You think its stressfull bidding on BR items on ebay, combine that with WW2 collectors
and it makes for one tough fight.
Im going to list this last one on Ebay because this time of year my work dries up for three months and the money i usually have saved to cover me has been used to feed a certain obsession we all share.
Will post details in a week or two when it is listed.

Yep, those are the ones i used, its surprising how abundant they are at the moment, there are four others on ebay as we speak, try searches like "Field gear", "Radios" and "ww2 flight gear". The flight helmet is a different story though, these are much harder to find and are generally more expensive. The one i made for Joan is rareer still, as it no markings on the side, the more screen accurate version.
BTW, the final Helmet i made has been pre-sold and will not be listed on ebay now.
Cheers. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

Cool, I have a few of the R-14 headsets, but this is the first pair I found with the holes in them...
The ones I am using now are great because the ear pieces unscrew so they are easier to fit in the ANH-15 ear holes. These are going to have to be squeezed in because the r-14 ear pieces seem to be welded shut. I may have to try rubber restorer or lubricant to get them in there.

Nice, mine dont have those holes though, good score. The best way ive found to get them in is to detach them from the headset, fold the helmet in half so the rubber hole looks like a mouth and squeeze a section of the earpiece into it, then just twist and turn till it fits in. A butter knife is also handy to force the issue, its surprising how tough the rubber is, so dont
be afraid to give it some muscle. _________________ Formerly offworld66 |

The Ox is slow but the Earth is patient.
Impossible to find at the time and for years afterward but an online check came across the recently re issued Plantronics SS Classic voice tube.
The journey is now complete, or will be when I get it.

Just need to add the correct voice tube at this point J but as I`ve dragged this into the Blu Ray era, only had DVD`s to work off back in the day, someone might be able to
ID this part or can do a 3D printing maybe?

Looking back at the project through HD eyes has revealed another part issue, the wire I thought was glued on to the original isn't wire at all.
Its some kind of rubber electrical wire insulation/sock/holder/sleeve looking item probably military as best as I can tell, any thoughts?

No idea about that round greeblie on the side. As for the "wire" around the helmet, it might also be some kind of piping for upholstery purposes. Or whicker. These propmasters are crazy mate |

It occurs to me that the round greeblie may be a model tank wheel painted silver. I've very little experience with those, but the studio scale model guys should be more familiar with what was used in the BR art department. |

Ended up getting a few things updated along with the voice tube, originally thought the green antenna had electrical tape half way up but turns out it doesn't, easy fix.
Completely changed the "air" valve section and substituted the missing greeblie with a button. Ditched the creepy hand painted base a while ago
and thought the aviator rip offs were appropriate.
Was pleased to discover the original had the same blob of BluTak I used to hold the voice tube in position.
