So going on what Tom mentioned about the mother wallet photo, I think it would also be a really cool idea if Deckard still kept a picture of his wife (Irene?) in there. What would be great is to find an nice profile pic of the actress in the deleted scenes photo.

Can anyone think of ideas as to finding out her identity? I've ruled out contacting the casting directors, not that I could in the first place. I'm sure they wouldnt want to waste their time with this Laughing

Good idea Beast. I've been, over the years, looking for the blouse she's wearing in the picture, but no luck so far. (would be nice to see that costume up close)

I believe the girl in this photo...

and the girl in this photo…

are one and the same. Kind of an attractive all-purpose extra doing double duty as needed…
Thoughts?

Bwood -- now that's an interesting comparison. Others have compared Iran with this character seen in the film http://propsummit.com/upload/1079/iransnowed(1).png And I have to disagree on that. But, your example comparison looks much more like a match to me.

That's great! I think you hit the mark there. Same face structure and everything. Perfect pic for the wallet Wink

Nope...the more I see her with Deck, the more I'm inclined to think that it's the same actress in the pic above; not the one from Bwood.

The woman in the car looks notably heavier and round-faced. Guess it could be her if she put on weight, but I don't think it's likely during the course of the shoot...

In the book, I believe her name was 'Iran'. However you spell it, the actress in question has remained elusive. I agree the above image shows a possible candidate for Mrs. Deckard, but I am not convinced.

We know it was common practice and reasonable to assume that extras during production were used for a variety of needs, so it's possible that either of these two actresses (or yet another) was chosen for photo sessions like that on the Deckards' front porch.

And it is amazing just how much lighting, makeup and hairstyle can significantly alter someone's appearance. In this case, just a smile can contribute in changing the shape of the face, acting to slim the jaw while raising the cheeks, and altering the eyes. In the porch image, the harsh sunlight is causing her to squint. Raised eyebrows and revealed eyelids add to that, so it is hard to tell.

Admittedly, both candidates are decent choices. Both are obviously different actresses and remain plausible guesses.

But I offer this comparison as a further discussion point. Unfortunately, lighting of the actress in the car does not lend itself to a fair comparison here.

IRAN/IRENE
In spite of some similarities, I would point out some differences I still question. Just at a glance here, I would never think they are the same person.

The face shape is similar, but other details are not, IMHO.
Expression here has a lot to do with confusing any certainty, as does lighting, but looking at the overall shape of the nose, it just looks different (wider). I think the tip of the proposed actress's nose is also a bit fuller. In addition, looking again at the jawline, back from the front chin, it looks a bit stronger on the actress than on Mrs. Deckard.

Both of these points are still arguable and other features like the ears and eyes are close, but without better reference or final confirmation, it is still only a guess.

I we could see their ears that would give us a definite answer (ears are like finger prints; nobody has the ears of another human being. That's why it's easy to see if dictators have a doppelganger Wink )

You can see their ears, at least in the examples provided. They seem quite similar at a glance in that they are about the same size, and close to the head.

Agreed. Of the characteristics visible, although the detail and overall shape of the ears cannot be seen from this angle, that is the one feature that does seem almost identical in appearance. - R13

Close is not perfect match...as for the actress in the car window, she has a dimple on the chin...not on the one with the fancy clothes Wink
Forehead is also smaller on Deck's pic than on the one with the fancy clothes.

To your points Joberg, while I might agree, the differences between a forehead covered with a hat vs. a hairstyle can be misleading and add to the illusion with perceived differences. IMO, there's just too much yet left to the imagination to make any definitive call, pro or con. - R13
