With eye, of course, I just purchased a real human glass prosthetic eye on ebay  With tiny veins and all... Will post pic when it arrives....

Good, but it will have to have the semi-gelatinous material added to make it "authentic." Actually, the eye in the screen cap more resembles a cow eye..

Call it artistic freedom. I think the idea of a human eye is more interesting. I plan on moulding some blubbery stuff around it.

So..... The eye arrived to day. I must admit it's a bit creepy. Up close it really looks like a real human eye. It's not that large, but that won't really matter when I get the tissue molded around it. Sorry that the picture is so bad.....
So next step is making it look like there's some tissue attached to it - any ideas from you guys? Next step from there is getting the box frosted on the inside and getting some stickers with the kanjis made....

Cool Idea. I may ask to re-title the top post so people know what the new prop is though. So if they decide to go looking back for it later they will be able to find it.
You might be able to build up some material around the eye using silicone sealant. I used to know a way to make the silicone even more gooey too, but I forgot what the additive was. I do know they used sheep eyes in the film. They always get used in place of human eyes because of their similar size, and look.

You could get some great results layering liquid latex. It allows you to build up many thin layers and is already flesh toned.
Have you given much thought to the fluid you'll use in the tank?

If anybody is considering the same build, I got the box from this place. It's the lid of the yellow M105:

Sheep eye... Hmm. Think I might make different eyes to put in the box. Just found this place, where you can actually get a glass sheep eye:

As for the liquid inside the box I havn't decided yet. Thought about using a milky resin in the bottom, but then I wouldn't e able to display different eyes inthe container, so I don't love that idea. The challenge will then be finding af milky liquid that dosen't spoil over time.... Hmmm... It will require som more thinking. Ideas are welcome!
Think I'll experiment with the latex. Thought about doing the shape of the tissue in polymer clay and then coat it in latex. That way I could do tiny blue veins under the latex "skin".

As I recall, and I could be wrong, the eyes Rutgar is putting on Chew's
shoulder is a pigs eye, complete with optic nerve. We made labels for 3 or 4
different mammals including human.
By the way:
The first assistant director (Newt Arnold) had an eye patch and a glass eye
key chain. You may see him in production photos.
