As with the Hartford, I thought it might be good to have a stand alone thread for the Zhora project.
Ideas on a practical holster for this beast?

Karl, as I mentioned to Dave (Rep13) in another thread, I always saw some kind of black shiny holster (patent leather type) either slung or attached like the regular Safari on her hip.
I'm sure others will chime in with their ideas on that one |

Black leather with a snakeskin inlay. Snake's not really practical for heavy traffic. It also has little inherent strength and need backing up with something.
Perhaps a snake 'print' texture on the leather and genuine snake inlay in panels on the holster and straps.

That could be cool...maybe a mock-up/drawing would be the bomb |

I tend to mock up rather than draw, mostly because I can do one but not the other
I'm still tossing ideas around and have a kit of the blaster on the way from the amazing Rick Ross, so I can measure and fit the holster accurately.

I totally support Karl's endeavor. I am thrilled that someone of his talents and background is willing to produce a holster for one of my kits. I cannot wait to see his finished holster design. Hopefully with the use of an actual Enforcer kit, Karl will be able to develop a design that will fit my cumbersome KMS military hardware. I am sure whatever he come up with, it will be outstanding.

Thanks Rick!
That's high praise coming from you.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for designing and building the most difficult weapon ever to make a holster for?
Seriously, it will be great to have to actual blaster in hand to work with, I really appreciate the support.
Having discussed this with Rick, we feel the rig design will follow one of two paths, or both if the interest is there.
1. Large holster rig to accomodate the blaster fully rigged.
2. Smaller holster and pouches for the blaster, scope and suppressor. 'Utility belt' approach.
Thoughts?

I have one of Rick's Zhora blasters and the scope might be an issue in that it is connected to the gun in a way that prohibits it from simply being disconnected and set aside UNLIKE the silencer which can be....meaning the holster would need to accomodate the scope but not necessarily the silencer....sorry if Rick covered this in a previous conversaton. _________________ ...the future is not all it's cracked up to be... |

No, no.
All input is good.
So, the scope and blaster as one unit, the suppressor as another?
Holster for the scoped blaster and a separate pouch for the can?

I thought I had posted an idea early: for Rick's gun with the silencer I think we could go toward a design like the Han Solo's holster.
Exposing the triggers (holding the gun with a leather strap, cutting off the top of the holster for the sight and a long "tube" to accomodate the silencer...just an idea here and waiting for others to chime in |

I got the blaster kit finished last night and am trying out some design ideas.
I'll post pics when I have a first prototype.

No pressure percieved
I'm up against a real world deadline at the moment, but the design is under way.
More news as it happens.
