Thanks Fred ha ha! I thought you would get a kick out of that. Here is another image with more gain on the CCD camera plus contrast adjustment.........
and the cloud bands are coming out a little better
I just need to try to find the shuttle and space station

Holy Crap, THE MONOLITHS ARE COMING!!!!
Actually that is very cool you can see that through a telescope from home.
I didn't know that was possible.

Wow, that is really cool.
So the planets that are closer, Venus and Mars, have you been able to look at those? I bet the moon looks friggin' awesome through it. |

Yes, with that particular telescope viewing the moon is like a close up (It is actually a deep space telescope) I hae 3 different sized scopes, and a radio telescope I use to catch hydrogen band from the Sun.
This is what I see through the big one:
and here is Saturn I took on an evening with poor seeing conditions and unstable air through a smaller telescope, (The big one is very heavy and takes a bit to set up) but it still came out ok I guess:

That is one magnificent light bucket you've got there, Sir! A Meade Lightbridge, isn't it?
What aperture are we talking about? 12"?
What are your smaller scopes? Newtonians as well, or do you have other optical configurations?
What equipment are you using for your astrophotography?
Could you tell us a bit more about your radio telescope, please?
(Aah ... sorry for the interrogation, there; you got me just a wee bit curious, I'm afraid...) _________________ 26354 |

Correct, it is a Lightbridge with 2 Axis EQ tracking platform, controlled with Digital setting circles and Speed control via optical encoders and laptop computer. I also have an iOptron GPS Cube with the original widefield F/5 refractor and I interchange it with a Vixen 90mm refractor for planets, then a Meade ETX-125 with GPS, electric focus, Barlows for both the CCD imager and visual eyepiece, and too numerous accessories to speak of. The radio telescope is called a IBRT, or "itty bitty radio telescope. It is a satellite dish I converted to a RT, some simple tuning hardware Channel Master 1004IF (RF choke and 3 LNB's), cheap cables that feed into a PC that can record the atomic hydrogen signature of the Sun. _________________ ______________________________________

I am glad you are having fun looking at this stuff guys.
Between working on the outland shuttle tonight, I am getting ready to set up a wide field refractor with CCD camera.. I am going to set time exposures to a 1 frame per minute long term exposure. I intend to make an animated image of Jupiter and moons whipping around it. Now so far the only problem I see the Moon is right next to it, so I will see If I can make it work tonight, We always have clear skies, But hopefully I will not need to wait a few nights.. I will see what I can come up with tonight _________________ ______________________________________
