Thanks for those links, some great points there, especially about the color schemes. I have always found it funny that so many films that have tried to copy the style of BR have made them almost monochromatic. BR was actually a very colorful movie if you look at all the costumes and sets in the daylight, it was just subdued by the darkness. I think it adds to the depth of the film to have those colors in there.
Thank you too for the new word, I am going to try and use it as often as possible

Great for sharing that; as Andy said, I'll try to use "Zeerust" as much as possible . As far as the Orange/Teal debate is heating up (lot's of pros have bitched about that...old school pros that is) I'm afraid it's a fad and cooler heads will prevail one day . Well, that's what I believe anyway. |

You just have to marvel at the interviewer's prep work on this interview; calling Rick Deckard Rick Decklin... _________________ Hollywood is the only industry, even taking in soup companies, which does not have laboratories for the purpose of experimentation.

Good: no Deckard...and no Rachael? Mmmh can we have that type of story? I'm on the fence about that one. What about Tyrell. Batty killed one of his copy and "another" Tyrell is back in the sequel, albeit older? Deckard is the one paying a visit to Tyrell's office and learns that he's indedd a Rep; after the news he commits suicide?
Bad: Another Blade Runner finally finds Deck and Rach in their safe house and killed them both...then go from there?
Deck makes an appearance in the movie to ties everything into a nice Hollywood package? |

All I can think about when I watch the Prometheus trailer is how awesome it is going to be when we first get to see a trailer for a new Blade Runner.
If Prometheus is any indication, it is going to be amazing! |

Right there with you Rodney. I felt EXACTLY that way when I watched the Prometheus teaser things that hit before the trailer. I just kept thinking of Blade Runner.
While I would enjoy seeing Deckard as an older man in the world of Blade Runner, I don't mind if the story is something else. It's that kind of film. At any time the camera could have panned right and followed a patrolman on an adventure, or any of the denizens of those crowded LA 2019 streets.
Really now, Scott has eluded to before that his Alien, and Blade Runner, happen in pretty much the same universe. This means, pretty much, that Prometheus takes place in the same universe as Blade Runner too.

TFS Andy...saw that a few days ago and said to myself: gossip! I don't see how Ford, or Ridley for that matter, is going to "fit" into the new BR movie. Maybe he killed Rachael and took Bryant's job...who knows?
Maybe he'll do the V.O. (who cares).
I just don't see it |

Yeah, I hope this is just wild speculation. As much as I like Harrison Ford, it would definitely do damage to the story. There's no way I can imagine for him to be involved without ruining something...
Unless it's just a cameo or something for fun. _________________ Good against remotes is one thing. Good against the living? That's something else.

Is it wrong of me to hope this project never gets off the ground? To me, BR belongs to a very specific time, place and cultural context...to revisit it this late in the game seems like a dodgy move.
But, whatever. Maybe I'm just clinging to the past. |

Difficult not to cling to the past since this movie is attached to a particular place and time in our life. I'm hoping for a "different BR" like I'm hoping for a "different Alien" (Prometheus)...but for sure, without Deckard into the picture |

from io9...
Quote: | Director Ridley Scott address the Harrison Ford rumors, saying that he's not even sure yet whether Rick Deckard will even be in the movie — but if he is, then Scott says that "nothing would please me more" than a reunion with Ford. He also gives this update on the current state of development:
Quote: | We're still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel. It's an interesting conversation. I'm meeting with writers and I've also gone back to [original Blade Runner screenwriter] Hampton Fancher and he still speaks the speak. He's right there. I spoke with him this week. But we don't even have a script yet. |
Finally, he says that he is doing this in part because he enjoyed the experience of making Prometheus so much. |

Huge sigh of relief...
Andrew Kosove of Alcon Entertainment says:
"It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner."
and
"What Ridley's doing in Prometheus is a good template for what we’re trying to do," Kosove says.
"He created something that has some association to the original Alien, but lives on its own as a standalone movie."

But this is ALCON Entertainment we're talking about, here!
You may remember them from such films as My Dog Skip, The Affair of the Necklace and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
