				| Hey guys haven't posted in a while but Halloween is coming and I'm trying to put the finishing touches on a Deckard costume.
 I need a Microma!

I know there are a few members here with extras/gold/stainless watches they would love to sell right?

I bought two Microma watches on ebay last year of different makes, and Frankensteined them together- and now have a passable prop... but I would love to own a real one.

I'll post photos of my monster later.

 in the mean time thanks!

				| There is a nice one on Ebay for $90 I think.
 Not sure but I think it's Deckard's.

				| There's some wiener on ebay that has ended all the recent microma black auctions.

They are throwing a lot of money when they come up, because all three
or so have ended the auctions really early.

If you find one come up, bid high early....

I got a silver one, but haven't cracked it open to see if I can get it to work.

Anyone have luck in converting a silver to black?

Dont have it but if you google Microma you will come to an English collectors site that lists them all.

I have spoken to a couple of watch repairers and it is possible to have the watch professionally turned black using the same factory process
 but it is VERY expensive.
Been thinking of doing it myself for a long time but need to come across some more options of doing it.

				| thanks guys I'll keep looking.
here's some photos of my hack job.

it was stainless, I blackened it with caswell stainless blackener. it took a few dips then some steel wool

it looks super old but I like it, similar surface to the worldcon.

the clasp has that great microma logo embossed on it. Its my favorite part...

				| I'm confused,...as usual.
I thought Deckard had a different type Microma. He should have had a Seiko G757 anyway. I had one long before James Bond,..but I digress.

Does anyone have a good pic of Deckard's watch????

				| LOL.. it seems we learn things every day!!
I used to own one of those Seiko's (got it from my dad) and I didn't even know it was also a JB item!

I recall it was a fantastic watch and now I wish I hadn't lost it all those years ago…

 Regards

				| Hi Guys, I can brush plate the watch Black Chrome , or do a full Black Parkerization on it , ( PM me if interested ) it wouldn't be expensive as I'd only charge for the chemicals used and it wouldn't take half an hour to do Nice attempt to use Caswell chemicals to blacken the 'silver' finish - handy helpful hint no ? - have any item you want to change the metal surface on - plated copper first ,the reason all platers and metal surfacers use copper as a basecoat to start from even in real gold and silverplating and it's much easier to blacken a known surface eg the copper , than a plated unknown - especially if it's chromed first ( you have to electro-clean chrome it's a b****r) to do ). | |

Nope. When I asked Q told me to get lost. Something about being a loud American with little to no skills.

Mine is like the one he has later but if I remember correctly his is the black edged sport model. I still have mine but something happened and most the face won't show. I had one guy look at it but all he tried was a new battery. Need to see about getting it looked at elsewhere. These things ain't cheap.

Love the Bond watch you have

				| Cheers guys,
The watch is from The spy who loved me

Mine is the same model with the correct band, the movie lighting highlights the black rim and dark grey plate.

Were these watches the three button model and how many did he have
 noble?
If you PM me, i`ll let you know what probably happened to the auction.

I wish you lived down under propsjonnyb as id love to take you up on the offer but have had some postal issues lately and wouldnt dream of sending the
watch around the world and back at the minute.

				| The auctions were scattered all over the globe.
To me, it kind of breaks the spirit of having an online auction by ending it
 early.

propsjonnyb, I will probably take you up on the offer.

First I need to get the case back off.

I'm having a hard time removing it. Need to take it to a watch repair store.
