Hi guys! First, I want to apologize for my bad English (I use a translation program). My name is Sven, I live in Germany and build the time the Nostromo in scale 1 / 480 scratch. If you want I can show pictures of it!

Ok, guys! Here are the promised pictures. I think I need about 1 year for completion.

Here are some data from my model:
Length: 80-82cm, width 45cm, height: 25cm
The details of my model are not exactly like the studio model!
I built my components so that the detailed model for me
looks interesting.

Old pictures from the start of construction! The gross structure of polystyrene plates, along a nearly full-scale Boeing 747 (scale 1 / 500)






Build the right engine mount made from polystyrene, half round profiles (3mm) from EVERGREEN and parts from the grab bag. The four heat-protection flaps I will build again a little thinner.







The supports for the engines I built from 1 / 35 tank parts and round of EVERGREEN.



Ready primed components!





Build the three big main engines! I have wine glasses used as a building material made of polycarbonate.



The wine glasses were not the correct curvature, so I had to improvise a little.



Unfortunately I have not found the right parts for the inside. The flaps at the end of the engines are still missing.

Did it three months and over 5000 parts needed! The gross structure was constructed from 2mm thick polystyrene plates and profiles and many parts of the grab bag.

Primed ready! The end pieces and the pipes of the two additional engines are still missing (have not quite finished!)










The add-on drives that are located above the dock area were built from parts of a roughly 1 / 35 V-2 rocket from DRAGON. The grooves I of 0.25 x 0.25 mm profiles EVERGREEN designed. The flaps were made entirely from various strong poly-plates and profiles. The last came a few etched parts and a first layer of primer on it. The flaps were (like most parts!) Only fixed temporarily with double sided tape to be able to possibly later still make casts of the finished model.







Lateral radio antennas!
My first two prototypes of the rear antennas. I was at this time no pictures from the studio model.


After a long search I finally found pictures of the antennas!


The newly constructed antennas (7.0 to 7.8 cm long) for my model of poly-profiles of EVERGREEN and model components from the grab bag.

Thrusters and antennas!
For the three thrusters I have the engines from COLUMBIA AND EAGLE used kits from Revell.


The long antenna I've built up from 173 parts from the grab bag! At the top of the antenna from the Halcyon model, in the middle of my first version, and below the new antenna.








The satellite dish (21 parts) I have from various Tankparts (1 / 35) was built.

Love it very much (the scale is right for that amount of details but be carefull not to overdo it...blank space is also beautiful ).

Thanks guys! I've forgotten to say that this is my third scratchbuilt model.

I'm still fast around the last pictures to post.

The front part, I had built wrong, so I had to repair the component.

Overview of all components, I needed a total of about 3650 parts.


Later, to even make a cast can I have the individual modules have again fixed with double sided tape.




















The cockpit, I will still drain (clear resin), so did the part built only once!

Here are the first pictures of my diorama for the Nostromo (Ore refinery on Thedus; 110x88x60cm) !

The idea for my diorama I had after I've seen this picture on the Internet.

The silos and smokestacks I'm from parts of the Space Shuttles (1 / 144, 1 / 288) was built. All other parts are from my sorting boxes. Most parts I have a special color (with iron powder) painted. After drying I applied to the color of an oxidizing medium. After a half hour, the color starts to rust!

The special color I've bought on eBay!

The first three of 12 individual segments are half finished!




























The landing platform for the Nostromo! Most parts come from Space Shuttle and Colombo-Containership kits from Revell. The crane is a model kit for a model railroad.




Here I've already started the construction of the furnaces.

There's only one thing that doesn't look right at all : The docking tube in the cockpit area should be orizontal ! (you've made the same mistake the guys in charge of restoring the Nostromo model for the Propstore of London did on the original model...)

Sven you're a machine As a greeblie-man, I'm in awe at the amount of stuff you have! As for your project: incredible, amazing, stupendous, etc...loving the "used" effects on the dry-dock model, keep up the good work!
