				| A fellow member on the Aliens Legacy forum wants to make a replica transparent screen which has the map of the Colony from Fox's ALIENS depicted on it, as seen in Operations. I offered to help out on it by drafting up the colony, so I put the Sulaco to one side for a couple of weeks while I worked on that.
Some of the text has been identified around the Landing Grid area, but not all. If you are able to help identify some of this missing text, and have reference available, please email me on hydride-ion@live.com.

				| I agree that SJ's done it again!!!!
On a design note, has anybody every wondered why the protective wall doesn't surround the colony complex?

I know for the soundstage only a portion was drawn and subsequently built, but seems like in reality it would've encircled the camp, otherwise what good would it have been? Wind could shift directions, unwelcome visitors could slip around the end...

				| Or the wall was still under construction? All kinds of possible explanations are up for grabs | |

				| I don't know whether it's relevant, but at an Aliens convention once I heard one of the effects guys* tell the story of how he was given a pile of miniature 'rock sculptures' that litter LV-426, and spent some time laying them out on the miniature planet surface in what he thought was a pleasing and artistic arrangement. Unfortunately Jim Cameron then walked in and said "No no no, you're doing it wrong. They all have to face the same way. See, the wind has carved them into these shapes..."
So it seems Mr Cameron had put some thought into it already?

 * it was either Bill Pearson or Steve Begg - I can't remember which, sorry

				| So ... the perimeter wall only faces in one direction because the wind always comes from that direction only.
 Clever.

				| That's interesting what Cameron said about the wind direction...may also be to help protect the colony from any problems on the landing grid perhaps? (Fuel dump accidents etc)
I still need to complete the Atmosphere Processor part of it as well as identifying the text on the colony itself.
