|
|
I am working on upgrading my OffWorld Blaster and have just replaced the plastic safety switch on the receiver (the plastic thumb switch that is adjacent to the bolt leaver) with a pewter cast one. I need a least one Socket Button Head Cap Screw the same size as the one that is already screwed into the receiver (I hope this makes sense). I am not sure the size of the screw. If you have something that I could use please email me at tgrooms443@aol.com
Thanks

In Ohio Im sure you got a local gunstore with a box full of odds and ends to help you out. also remember you can buy part auctions off of gunbroker.com with out a gun license. Thats how I scored all my 38 parts for my off-world and my 44 parts for my sidkit. _________________ The other Karl! |

Those screws are easily available at just about any hardware store . Not sure what size they are offhand and my baggie of them is mixed with different sizes and not labeled.. The switch however is part of the original Steyr. It was drilled out to be attached with the screw. I used to bring Karl's pics with me for parts I was looking for into shops to ID and size parts.

That is the piece. I cut mine off of my OffWorld blaster then drilled out the plastic screw and made a plaster mold; then I just poured the pewter in. After some sanding and filing I have a decent pewter replica, just looking for a proper screw. By the way, I did the same with the grip's butt plate.
I do have an extra switch in pewter already made but it will need a little file work.
I have looked at a few local hardware stores and have yet to find this type of screw in the correct size.
I have been re-working my OffWorld for a few months now just adding bits and pieces as they become available or as I make them. Its looking great, I will post pictures when finished.
Thank

Is there a definitive list of all the screws on the WorldCon? Or at least as close as possible without disassmbling the original?

Rich
That is too generous of you. I am in the USA, Ohio specifically. I would be more than happy to pay you for one screw.
Thank you so very much

I have to admit that is a part that I need a few of myself. The switch, not the screw.

My order for these seems to have gotten lost.
I will retry.
Please stand by.

The closest place I've found to having the right screws is Ace Hardware and they don't have the right sizes. |
