				| Acquired this recently so I wanted to post it, even though technically it's not a Ridley Scott related item. The Blade Runner Blaster inspired the propmakers of this though so it's at least tangentially related.
 "Colonial Clamshell" which was used mostly in the first season and occasionally afterwards. This replica is built on an airsoft, and has aluminum resin body parts. Heavy and solid and clicky!

 Compared with an earlier version which is larger and built on a Smith and Wesson type of pistol I think.

 Replica features swiveling "safety" levers on the sides. Superb work by Guardian Matsuo!

 And no surprise. I am waiting for him to heal up before I ask if he can send me one.

				| These are really both gorgeous pieces gentlemen!
 I have to admit that its not a franchise I know much about, but this prop is perfect.

 Cheers for letting us see these is such great detail!

				| Beautiful piece, Blade Runner or not...lol I love Galactica!
 Otherwise, what Staar said is correct, the prop was perfect. It gives a sense of Sci-fi grounded in the real world that might actually be a weapon, not just something slapped together for TV.

				| Unfortunately the Clamshell Blaster was atypical for Galactica. While some props had to be deliberately designed for the show (the flight suits, sets, Viper fighters, etc), most of the props were unmodified storebought items. Eyeglasses and desk calculators and such. They did bother to cut the corners off of papers and books, but that was more of an in-joke than anything.
 Sadly the Clamshell proved to be too unwieldy as a prop (the clamshell had to be opened to reload the Taurus revolver), so in Season Two it was replaced by the completely mundane FN FiveSeven pistol, with only the wedge-shaped rocket launcher attached to make it sort of "science fictiony".

 (that however is another fine replica by Matsuo
  )

				| Ok, well if we're showing off Battlestar props...here's my tiny collection:

 The Oblique label isn't screen accurate, I actually have already done up a new run of labels, I just need to make a trip to Kinkos. The "Shells" are made from CO2 cartridges and faucet parts. I can't take credit for the Baltar pamphelt, I just printed someone else's work (their name escapes me).
